Fred R. Coulter, Minister

August  16, 2005

Dear Brethren,

This month the Biblical Archeological Review magazine has a tremendous article about the recent discovery and excavation of the pool of Siloam that existed during Jesus’ ministry.  (We have enclosed a copy of this article in this mailing.)  Since it was first discovered in 2004, they have now authenticated that this is the pool of Siloam spoken of in John 9.  They also admit the pool of Siloam was indeed a part of the temple complex—on the south side of the city of David.  It was originally connected to the underground channel that brought water from the Spring of Gihon to the pool of Siloam.  This will also establish the fact that the temple was not located in the area where the Mosque of Omar—the Dome of the Rock—is now located.  Therefore, when it comes time to rebuild the temple in Jerusalem, the Jews will understand the temple was actually located close to the spring of Gihon.  For more complete information about the true Temple Mount and where the temple must be built, see Appendix O, in the New Testament starting on page 838.

In the past 150 years, all the archeological discoveries have proven the Bible to be accurate in its historical information.  This is important because discoveries such as the pool of Siloam reveal that the inspiration of the Word of God is true, not just in its spiritual teachings, but even in seemingly “mundane” things of history information.  Again, this verifies what Paul wrote to Timothy concerning the inspiration of the Scriptures: “And that from a child you have known the holy writings, which are able to make you wise unto salvation through faith, which is in Christ Jesus.  All Scripture is God-breathed and is profitable for doctrine, for conviction, for correction, for instruction in righteousness; so that the man of God may be complete, fully equipped for every good work” (II Tim. 3:15-17).

The apostle Peter also made it clear that the Word of God was not a collection of myths and fables of men but the true words of God:  “But I will make every effort that, after my departure, you may always have a written remembrance of these things in order to practice them for yourselves, for we did not follow cleverly concocted myths as our authority, when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of His magnificent glory; because He received glory and honor from God the Father [on the Mount of Transfiguration] when the voice came to Him from the Majestic Glory, ‘This is My Son, the Beloved, in Whom I am well pleased.’  And this is the voice from heaven that we heard when we were with Him on the holy mountain.  We also possess the confirmed prophetic Word to which you do well to pay attention, as to a light shining in a dark place [Jesus Christ and the Word are the shining light], until the day dawns [the return of Jesus Christ and the kingdom of God] and the morning star arises in your hearts the first resurrection]; knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture originated as anyone’s own private interpretation; because prophecy was not brought at any time by human will, but the holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit” (II Pet. 1:15-21).

This discovery verifys and confirms the Word of God. We need to realize that before Jesus Christ returns, God the Father and Jesus Christ are going to give a multitude of witnesses that will prove the existence of God, the ministry of Jesus Christ and the truthfulness of the Word of God.  Although men reject the truth of God, they will actually have no excuse whatsoever. Because they refuse to believe the truth, God will give them over to Satan’s last great deception that will sweep the world.

Even some in the various churches of God will not be immune to these satanic deceptions and spiritual attacks.  As Paul wrote, and we have seen fulfilled before our own eyes, brethren will forsake God the Father, Jesus Christ and the truth of the Word of God for lies and myths.  This is why we must always be diligent, love God, keep His commandments and grow in grace and knowledge. This why Paul charged Timothy to preach the Word—not the fables and myths of men!  Paul’s charge to Timothy is also a charge to every teacher, elder and minister in the churches of God, today—preach the Word: “I charge you, therefore, in the sight of God, even the Lord Jesus Christ, Who is ready to judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: Preach the Word!  Be urgent in season and out of season; convict, rebuke, encourage, with all patience and doctrine.  For there shall come a time when they will not tolerate sound doctrine; but according to their own lusts they shall accumulate to themselves a great number of teachers, having ears itching to hear what satisfies their cravings; but they shall turn away their own ears from the truth; and they shall be turned aside unto myths”  (II Tim. 4:1-4).

It seems that because people are turning their ears away from the truth of God’s Word, God is literally raising up stones as a witness against them!  This article about the pool of Siloam is literally raising up, or digging up, stones that witness to the truth of the Scriptures!  Perhaps, if they won’t listen to the Word of God they will listen to stones!  Literal history and these stones are witnesses against them.  We can be absolutely sure that there will be many more witnesses against the world that will prove all of the Word of God—every jot and tittle—is true.  There will be ample proof that God the Father and Jesus Christ do exist and that the promise of Jesus’ return in power and glory is true. It will happen as the Bible says.

We have included letters some from brethren. It is amazing that their letters reflect what I have written in this letter is true and is happening now.

Dear Mr. Coulter,

Another month has began and another month closer to the K.O.G.!  Let us be thankful for all the blessings He is giving us.

Again, thank you, thank you for all the inspired sermons and all the work you are doing to provide the truth.  Looking forward to the new book you are writing on the pagan holidays.  Just want you to know that all you and staff are doing through God’s strength is very much appreciated!  And please tell Kimberly she too is much appreciated for all the work she does in the office to be a help to you and the brethren.

Many of the scattered brethren are alone and the tapes, letters, books and booklets are so very much looked forward to!  Thank you for caring for us, thank you for teaching me that I belong to God and am responsible to Him.  I know my relationship to God has gotten closer, but I know it can improve much more.

God be with you all in everything you do.  I pray that you continue to gain strength and knowledge in all his words.  As you learn, we learn and grow!  Thank you for the love of God you are showing.

Love and Prayers,

K.K., Colorado

Dear Mr. Coulter,

I have been fortunate to have met a Brother in Christ who read to me from a copy of your “The New Testament-In Its Original Order- A Faithful Version with Commentary-From the Stephens Text of 1550,” #ISBN 0-9675479-3-8.

The author’s study and history information is fantastic!  It drew my attention strongly!  Since the Brother in Christ enlightened me and shared his text with me, he has moved on, and I would have to learn more from the same text (above).

I’m an indigent inmate starving for God’s word.  Could you possibly send me a copy of the above, please as soon as possible?

Sincerely-In Christ,

J.W.S., Virginia

From our office in New Zealand:

Dear Fred,

I thought I had better bring you up to date with what is happening down here.  Our planned trip to the South Island in April didn’t eventuate, as En became sick with gallstones so we post postponed the trip for a month.  The CBCG brethren from Perth, whom we were to meet in Christchurch, came up to Waihi and stayed with us a few days.  We did get to Christchurch in May and baptized two new women, a mother and daughter we have been sending tapes to for several years.  They will need our prayers, as they are very much on their own.  We can’t advise them to fellowship with an other church of God in the area because they are now into sacred names and a different calendar.

On the way home we spent a few days in the Marlborough area and I contacted an old friend in Nelson, who used to come up north for the FOT in the old days of WCG.  He told me he had joined the Anglican Church.  And when I quizzed him on this, he said he had bought into Joe Tkach Jr.’s arguments.  When he asked what we were doing these days I explained very plainly our position, and that if he ever wanted to return to the truth we could give him plenty of helpful information.  Then, we visited the Anglican cathedral where he now attends, and saw a photo of the bishop wearing his Dagon fish-god hat.  Also, on glancing through their Bible study notes (for which they have to pay) I found that they are taught that God could not have written the Commandments on the tables of stone with his finger, as God doesn’t have fingers.  So where did Israel get the commandments?  Well, the nations around about had developed these moral concepts from which Israel had cobbled together the 10 laws.  Fred, it’s almost unbelievable what former Church of God members now believe.

A man and his wife in Tauranga, old friends from the early days in WCG, who occasionally fellowship with us on holy days, recently gave me a copy of Hunting and Buzzard’s book, The Doctrine of the Trinity.  They accept this as truth.  The Buzzard’s are certainly Hunting the people of God.  I would offer them your tapes on Was Jesus God, but they have been getting your tapes for years and should know better.  Unfortunately, they have withdrawn themselves from fellowship with other brethren and have become a law unto themselves.  Another couple that visited us has gone into sacred names, so I sent them Carl’s material to read.  We have not heard from them since.

The group we used to fellowship with in Auckland started teaching universal salvation, and we left.  Now they are keeping a different holy day calendar, which is not really a calendar at all, but their own invention, following in the steps of the confused Karaite Jews.

The faithful brethren here are in good heart, and we have added six to the tape list.  One of them is a refugee from UCG and another was disfellowshipped by Living for distributing the Journal—true love indeed.

Bill Ross from Lyttelton died shortly after we arrived home from the South Island trip.  He had been in bad health for a long time and had a sudden heart attack early one morning.  The ambulance crew tried for three-quarters of an hour to revive him.

We are pleased that Allan and Lynn Wieland are going to join us for the FOT.  We will be holding it at the Blue Lake Top 10 Holiday Park in Rotorua, a really beautiful spot, and I’m sure they will enjoy their stay.  We will do our best to make it memorable for them.

We really appreciate all your efforts for the brethren in sending out the tapes and literature.  Thanks Fred.

By the way, our town of Waihi is a Maori word and is pronounced as y-hee.  Also, we are not in Auckland, but two hours drive from there in the Bay of Plenty region, although it is not necessary to state the region; just Waihi 2981.  It would be like us saying Hollister, California.  I can’t think of anything else relevant at the moment Fred, so I will close now.

We send our love to you and Dolores.

Steve & Jean Gough, Waihi

Dear Fred,

Thank you so much for all the tapes and literature—great as always.  As my faith in God keeps growing year by year thanks to your sound teachings granted to you by God.  Because you have always shown yourself to be faithful to His Word, it becomes that much harder to understand why so many people that I have known in our former Church have all turned their backs on the truth of God.  They have just gone back into the world and they say with pride, that those teachings were for ancient Israel and not for us today.  And I ask them what about the Sabbath and holy days?  The answer is: “No more of that stuff, either.”  One man even laughed and said he couldn’t believe some members were still following the old way of keeping the Sabbath.  It seems to have been split a 50/50 in the Springfield, Missouri area.  Many of the elders and some of the ministers are now proud Sunday keepers, meeting with other Sunday keeping churches around town.

I know you have explained all these things that I have just told you many, many times.  I know it is nothing new for you.  You’ve heard it all before.  It seems that God has literally taken away every thing they had.  All truth and knowledge and wisdom and love of God.  They are not cast adrift upon a sea of deception.  Perhaps, like ancient king Nebchadnezzar maybe God will be merciful to them and allow their sanity to return.

I hope that all of you have a wonderful feast and that God will give peace and joy to the rest of the churches of God that are pleasing Him and Jesus Christ.

S. H., Missouri

Unfortunately, these letters only show part of the spiritual condition of many brethren and churches of God.  As Paul wrote, Satan seems to be raising up many false teachers, Judiaizers, kooks and nuts who are preaching false doctrines—lies, weird calendar schemes and self-serving myths, attempting to infiltrate and subvert brethren in the churches of God.  However, God shows that their judgment is coming.  All of them will have to repent, and we hope that they do, or they will face eternal destruction. God will not be mocked!  As Jeremiah wrote:“[God said] and I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria; they prophesied in Baal [the sun god—Sunday worship], and caused my people Israel [the Church is spiritual Israel] to err. I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness: they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah.  Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts concerning the prophets: Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall: for from the prophets of Jerusalem is profaneness gone forth into all the land.

“Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD.  They [false prophets] say still unto them that despise me, The LORD hath said, ‘Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.  For who hath stood in the counsel of the LORD, and hath perceived and heard his word? who hath marked his word, and heard it?’  Behold, a whirlwind [of judgment] of the LORD is gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind: it shall fall grievously upon the head of the wicked.  The anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly. I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied” (Jer. 23:13-20).

God is fully aware of what these false teachers are teaching.  He is giving them enough rope to either repent or hang themselves.  Jeremiah continues: “I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed.  How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart; which think to cause my people to forget my name by their dreams which they tell every man to his neighbour, as their fathers have forgotten my name for Baal.  The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully” (verses 25-28).

In these spiritual wars that we are facing, we must always be faithful to the Word of God.  We must understand and believe it, the way God intends.  We must be faithful and be loving God and the brethren at all times regardless of circumstances or what other people may think, do or say.  This way we will always please God because we are in an attitude of repentance and seeking Him and His will at all times. This is also a key to answered prayer, as the apostle John wrote: “Beloved, if our hearts do not condemn us, then we have confidence toward God.  And whatever we may ask we receive from Him because we keep His commandments and practice those things that are pleasing in His sight” (I John 3:21-22).

Brethren, this will be a short letter because I have to finish writing the Halloween-Occult book.  I am getting close, but have to really push ahead to get it done.  Thank you for your continued love, prayers and support in helping to reach out to brethren and new people.  May God bless you with His love, grace and blessings in every thing.

With love in Christ Jesus,

Fred R. Coulter
