Book: God’s Bible Pathway For Children

Shem and his wife had children. One of Shem's descendants was named Abram. Abram obeyed God. God told Abram to leave his father's house and go to an­other land with his wife Sarai. God changed Abram's name to Abraham and Sarai to Sarah.

Abraham had cattle, camels, horses and sheep, and lived out in the hills. He had people called servants who worked for him. Abraham obeyed God and kept His laws.

God told Abraham He would bless him and his children because Abraham obeyed God's commandments and laws on how to live in a caring, kind and loving way. Abraham became the father of many nations.

When Abraham and his wife, Sarah, were old, God made it possible for her to have a baby boy. They named him Isaac.

Isaac grew up, married, and had a son named Jacob. After Jacob married he had twelve sons. God changed Jacob's name to Israel because he learned to obey God.

One of Israel's sons, whom he loved very much, was named Joseph. He made him a “coat of many colors.”

Some of Joseph's brothers hated him because he had a dream that all the brothers would kneel to him.

Because of that dream and because he was their father's favorite son, they put him in a big hole and sold him into slavery and he was taken to the country of Egypt by his masters. .

God watched over Joseph. The Egyptian King, called Pharaoh, made Joseph the second in command.
