….And here was the message that was given, because you see here was the population that was given over to other religions and other gods.

(This is the start of the transcribed 5 minute section that was on the defective section of the original audio tape.)

And what happened? What happened to that country? What happened to the people who were the people of God? And what happened to that city, and that temple and that country? And, could it happen again to us today? Because God says that he never changes. God says that His purpose is right and true. And God says, "You shall have no other gods before me." And if people have other gods before them, and if nations have idolatry and wickedness, then they bring upon themselves the penalty of breaking the laws of God. Because you see, the laws and commandments of God are in effect ever living, ever in force, and those who keep the commandments of God will be blessed, and those who don't will reap the penalty of sin.

So this is the basic message that Jeremiah had to bring to the people in Jerusalem. And, he said, "Thus saith the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings and I will cause you dwell in this place." (Jer. 7:3 KJV) And you know today, there are a lot of people who are wondering: where is the world headed, where is it going, what is going to happen? How long can we endure all of the things that are happening? Yet, as strange as it may seem, the answer is right in the pages of your Bible. God says we need to change. God says we need to repent. God says we need to forsake the ways of the religions of other gods and other nations, and get back to the Bible; get back to the Word of God and be Christians in deed and in truth.

It says in Jeremiah 7 and verse 4: "Trust ye not in lying words, saying, The temple of the Lord, The temple of the Lord, The temple of the Lord, are these." (Jer. 7:4 KJV) And you know there are a lot of people who say, well, you know we're God's people, well we have God's religion. And it isn't. What does God say? He says, "For if ye throughly amend your ways and your doings; if you throughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbor; If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt…" (Jer. 7:5-6 KJV) Because you see the gods of other religions are not God. The Bible shows that the origin of the other religions is not God, but Satan. And also, Satan has his own counterfeit Christianity, which follows right along with some of the eastern religions in claiming that Jesus Christ was a good man, that he was a prophet, not the Son of God. And the New Testament says that is the antichrist.

On a recent program I went through a report that is shown in one of the recent Life magazines; how that in the United States of America, people are turning to the religion of Hinduism, which rejects the name of Jesus Christ, which rejects the power and authority of God. And, they worship demons and spirits and idols. You might ask yourself the question, "What did the religions of the East ever bring to those people, but superstition and fear and oppression?" And that's why God says, turn from it. And these worshipping other gods are not worshipping the true God. That is cutting people off from God, and it is going to hurt them. And, so it's the same with our religion. Is your religion from the Bible? Do you worship God? And, if you do, is it the way that God said it should be? Do you have any idols of statues in your home? Regardless of what they may be called, because whatever where the first commandment is broken, "You shall have no other gods before me," the second one is also always broken. Do you have idols in your home? Pictures? Statues? Do you have them on the dashboard of your car? And what good is it going to do? I mean, really. You think about it. God says, how can you make any image of Me, when I've created the universe? How can you show what I am really like out of the figment of the imagination of your own mind? Have you ever seen God? Do you know God? Do you know what He looks like?
