I got to thinking about all of the commerce and trade that is going on and the theme of everything today is 'it's the economy, stupid.' It is! I got to thinking, because there's a minister who says that the United States is Babylon the Great. You make a pretty good case for that. I'm not saying that it is, but you can make a case based upon the evidence. But if you don't know your Bible you're not going to know how to solve the problem.
Let's see that not only has immorality been a problem in the downfall of Israel, but also commercialism. Joseph at the end is a powerful nation and all of them are shooting against him.
Let's see what happened with Solomon, because I think he has a parallel in what he did and what we are doing. Let's see what a tremendous economy they had, because it's going to be the technology and commerce of Israel enforced by Gentiles on the world that's going to bring in the mark of the beast! Think on that!
There was a book written years ago: East minus West=Zero by Werner Keller. The world has to steal Israel's technology; they always do! Let's see what happened with Solomon.
Sidebar: Don't believe any stories that the Ark is in Ethiopia. We don't know where it is. We don't know if, in the starting of the temple to be built that they might conveniently make one and find it in a cave. They've made almost all the other implements for the temple worship and they are having different men practicing of how operate these. They have a place near the Dead Sea where they are doing this. They have the priests and Levite's uniforms, and many of the implements ready to go.
1-Kings 10:10—finishing the last part of the Queen of Sheba's visit: "And she gave the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold, a very great store of spices, and precious stones. No spices like that ever came again in such abundance that the Queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon. And also the navy of Hiram which brought gold from Ophir, brought in from Ophir…" (vs 10-11).
In the book In Search of… Origin of the Nations by C.M. White, I believe that he claims that Ophir was Peru. Where there was an abundance of gold. In Southeast Asia there was an area where there was an abundance of gold.
"…brought in from Ophir great abundance of almug trees and precious stones. And the king made of the almug trees supports for the house of the LORD, and for the king's house, also lyres and harps for singers. No such almug wood has come or been seen to this day. And King Solomon gave to the Queen of Sheba all her desire, whatever she asked, besides what Solomon gave her of his royal bounty. So she turned and went to her own country, she and her servants. And the weight of gold, which came to Solomon in one year was six hundred sixty-six talents of gold" (vs 11-14)—666; that's not the mark of the beast; it's gold! This was tribute money that came in year-by-year.
Verse 15: "In addition to that which came from the merchant men…" It was a merchandising, worldwide empire. That's what I want you to grasp, the merchandising of this.
"…and from the traffic of the traders and from all the kings of Arabia and from the governors of the lands. And King Solomon made two hundred shields of beaten gold; six hundred shekels of gold went into one shield. And he made three hundred shields of beaten gold; three minas of gold went into one shield…." (vs 15-17). That's a lot of gold when you overspread it.
"…And the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon. And the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with the best gold. The throne had six steps and the top of the throne was round at the back…. [apparently the steps went all around] …And there were arm rests on either side of the seat, and two lions stood beside the arm rests… [like he's sitting between two cherubim] …and two lions were standing upon the six steps, on one side and on the other side. There was nothing like it in any other kingdom. And all King Solomon's drinking vessels were of gold…" (vs 17-21).
If we have fine glass today, we're happy, because most of us drink out of plastic. You go to the store, what do you get your juice in? Plastic bottle! You buy some water to drink and it's in a plastic bottle. Everything comes in plastic! All of Solomon's drinking vessels were of gold!
"…and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of pure gold. None were of silver; it was counted as nothing in the days of Solomon" (v 21). It says in another account that it was 'like gravel in the street.'
Verse 22: "For the king had at sea a navy of Tarshish with the navy of Hiram. Once in three years the navy of Tarshish came bringing gold and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks." When Magellan sailed around the world it took him three years. That's what we're talking about: a worldwide trading combine!
Verse 23: "And King Solomon was greater than all the kings of the earth in riches and in wisdom. And all the earth sought Solomon to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart" (vs 23-24). Sound a little bit like today's technology; everybody comes to Israel today. The whole world was seeking after Solomon!
- What was the prophecy concerning Ephraim and Manasseh? That God make you like Ephraim, and make you like Manasseh!
- What does the world want to be like today? Like America!
- What are we trying to enforce upon the world? Our democracy!
Quite interesting parallels here!
Verse 25: "And every man brought his presents, vessels of silver and vessels of gold…" Solomon was so wise that he said, 'You're not going to get to see me unless you bring me something really special. I'm not going to give you any of my wisdom at all unless you heap it up nice and high.' So, they brought it!
"…and clothing and armor, and spices, horses and mules, at a rate year by year" (v 25). This was a trading pack. Can you imagine what the population of Israel was like then? They had everything their hearts could desire.
What happens when you have everything your heart desires? You have a lot of idleness—don't you? I want you to see the parallels today. Then he got in trouble. He did what God said not to do! God told the king not to go to Egypt; don't multiply horses to yourself.
Verse 26: "And Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen.…" I imagine they had chariot races with racetracks. With all the money that's there, you know they were betting right and left. Do people do it today? Sure!
"…And he had fourteen hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, whom he stationed in the cities for chariots and with the king at Jerusalem. And the king made silver like stones in Jerusalem…" (vs 26-27). In other words, why trade with second grade stuff? Just gold, please!
"…and he made cedars like the sycamore trees in the valley for abundance. And Solomon had horses brought out of Egypt and out of Kue. The king's merchants received linen yarn from Kue at a price. And a chariot was imported from Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver…" (vs 27-29).
They were making the best chariots possible. Sound like today? Are we importing cars today? Yes, we are!
"…and a horse for a hundred and fifty. And so, to all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, they were exported to them through their hands" (v 29).
When you have everything possible that you want physically, what happens? Same thing that's happening today! Solomon again did what God said not to do. Let's understand that what Solomon did, the nation did!
Remember that what Bill Clinton did, the nation did. Why do you think we had so many corrupt CEOs discovered after Clinton was gone? As he did with his sex morays, so did a lot of the kids say, 'It isn't sex, the President says so.' You can imagine what they said here with Solomon. 'Well look! The king married many strange women.'
So, we literally had developing there in Israel, under his kingship, a Sodom and Gomorrah! Not only that, we had the 'religions' that went with Sodom and Gomorrah!
1-Kings 11:1: "And King Solomon loved many foreign women, even the daughter of Pharaoh, Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians, Hittites; of the nations which the LORD had said to the children of Israel, 'You shall not go in to them, and they shall not go in to you; surely they will turn away your heart after their gods.' But Solomon clung to these in love" (vs 1-2).
What happened when the Beatles came in? We had all of the 'eastern religion' come in at the same time! Did that not affect us in the same way? There are so many parallels that happened in Solomon's day that are happening in our day.
Verse 3: "And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines. And his wives turned away his heart." You know the rest of the story; he was henpecked by a thousand women with no place to hide; no peace! So, he said, 'All right, I'll build the temple for your god. I'll build an incense altar for your god.'
Here's the temple mount coming down the ridge, and to the west there was a little valley and to the west of that was a little hill or mount. On the area west of it Solomon built all these pagan churches and shrines to his one thousand women.
Of course, just like it is today, people would flock to them. So, here we have the Babylonization of Israel before Babylon rose up to take them away captive. I think that's exactly what we are seeing in America today!
Let's see some other parallels and understand that in America there is a great sex revolution continuously going on. In the first part of Ezek. 16 God blessed them and gave them everything, and so forth.
Ezekiel 16:10—God says: "I also clothed you with embroidered work, and I shod you with leather sandals. And I wrapped you in fine linen, and I covered you with silk. And I adorned you with ornaments, and I put bracelets upon your hands and a chain on your neck. And I put a ring on your nose, and earrings in your ears, and a beautiful crown on your head" (vs 10-12). This is explaining in a parallel what God did through Solomon and how He blessed all Israel. That's what He's comparing them to.
Verse 13: "And you were adorned with gold and silver; and your clothing was of fine linen and silk and embroidered work. You ate fine flour and honey and oil; and you were exceedingly beautiful. And you advanced into a kingdom. And your name went out among the nations because of your beauty…" (vs 13-14). See how that follows right along with what we read concerning Solomon?
"'…for it was perfect through My splendor, which I had put on you,' says the Lord GOD. 'But you trusted in your beauty, and played the harlot because of your name, and poured out your fornications on all who passed by—on any who would have it'" (vs 14-15).
Isn't that true? We give aide to everybody who comes along! God says later that 'you're worse than harlots of the street, at least they charge. You pay your customers! You're contrary to all!'
Verse 16: "And you took from your clothes and adorned your high places with different colors, and played the harlot on them. Such things should not happen, nor should ever be! And you have taken of your beautiful jewels of My gold and of My silver, which I had given you, and made images of men, and did commit whoredom with them" (vs 16-17).
It always comes back to when you do not have the moral standing of God's Word to guide you constantly, when you have the abundance of all things you become corrupt! The children become corrupt because they grow up into a society where all of these things are automatic and they are there. So, they expect them! You can see that anytime you go into a supermarket, watch the little kids. If they don't get what they want, they just whine, groan and moan and all that sort of thing.
Verse 18: "'And you took your embroidered dresses and covered them, and you have given to them My oil and My incense. Also, My food, which I gave you, fine flour and oil and honey with which I fed you, you have given it to them for a sweet savor. And so it was,' says the Lord GOD. 'And you have taken your sons and your daughters, whom you have borne to Me, and you sacrificed them unto these images to be devoured….'" (vs 18-20).
That's a very good analogy talking about abortion. How many abortions have been? Close to 50 million! {at the giving of this message} God has some things coming; we'll look at it.
"'…Is this, your whoredoms so small a matter? You have slaughtered My children and delivered them up and caused them to pass throughthe fire. And in all your hateful deeds and your whoredoms you have not remembered the days of your youth, when you were naked and bare, and squirming in your own blood'" (vs 20-22).
Then He says 'you played the harlot' and told them what they were doing. Then He talks about Jerusalem.
Verse 44: "Behold, all who use proverbs shall use this proverb against you, saying, 'As is the mother, so is her daughter.' You are your mother's daughter, who despises her husband and her sons. And you are the sister of your sisters, who despise their husbands and their sons. Your mother was a Hittite, and your father an Amorite. And your older sister is Samaria, she and her daughters who dwell at your left hand. And your younger sister, who dwells at your right hand, is Sodom and her daughters" (vs 44-46).
What is Jerusalem called today? Sodom and Egypt! This is talking about Jerusalem. When it talks about Jerusalem it's means the Jews, but it also expands out and includes all the Israelites.
Verse 47: "'Yet, you have not only walked according to their ways, nor have only done according to their hateful deeds; but, as if it were a very little thing, you were even corrupted more than they were in all your ways. As I live,' says the Lord GOD, 'Neither Sodom your sister, nor her daughters, have done as you have done, you and your daughters'" (vs 47-48).
The actual cities of Sodom and Gomorrah have not done what you have done, nor her daughters!
Verse 49: "Behold, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom; pride, fullness of bread and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters…." What I want to hit on is all the abundance! All of that that is there, and we surely have it today.
Nor did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. I was thinking about that driving around and we're able to eat out at restaurants. We were sitting at dinner and thinking: How many restaurants, people and tons of food, drink, water, etc. for people to eat in their homes, eat in a restaurant and you add all of this merchandising on. Just think about how we have just been setup in such a way that we are all locked into merchandising more than anything else in the history of the world.
What are they going to do? How is it going to be? Let's see what's going to happen. Now we're going to project forward to the end-time and we're going to see that it's exactly the same thing. This world is going to see some things come along that's going to astound the world. It's going to be the most fantastic society that has ever been:
- coupled with the most sinful society that has ever been
- coupled with the most controlled society that has ever been
Daniel 8:17: So, he came near where I stood…. [the angel] …And when he came, I was terrified and fell upon my face. But he said to me, 'Understand, O son of man, for the vision is for the time of the end.'"
Verse 23: "And in the latter time of their kingdom…" this translates into the King of the North (Dan. 11)] …when the transgressors have come to the full, a king, fierce of countenance and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up. And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power…." (vs 23-24). We're going to see later that this is going to be by the power of Satan the devil.
"…And he shall destroy marvelously… [going to have great power] …and shall prosper and do his own will, and destroy the mighty and the Holy people. And also through his cunning he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand. And he shall magnify himself in his heart, and in time of security shall destroy many. He also shall stand up against the Prince of princes…." (vs 24-25).
You can control people by giving them everything they want by threatening to deprive them. Think about that! How many people in the world are going to be willing to give things up? Their cars, pleasures, televisions, convenience of the supermarkets, travel! I want you to think about that! "…shall destroy many…" by prosperity.
"…But he shall be broken without a human hand" (v 25).
Dan. 11—here again we have a man that is going to be unlike anything that the world has ever seen. Right now, many of the foundations are already laid for this to take place. We've heard it in the past that Europe is going to rise. It is going to rise! I've read many reports on how they are doing all they can to begin to get away from the United States led by France! We are sitting as a nation in the most precarious position we have ever, ever, ever been!
That's going to be to the downfall of America. When that happens there's going to be the 'king' who's going to rescue the world. Because if America goes down, guess what happens? The whole world goes down!
Daniel 11:36: "And the king… [of the North] …shall do according to his will. And he shall exalt [himself]… [we're talking about something that has never yet occurred] …and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak astonishing things against the God of gods… [the true God] …and shall prosper until the indignation be accomplished, for that which is decreed shall be done. He will not regard the gods of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god, for he shall magnify himself above all" (vs 36-37). That's something! Then we have the King of the South is going to push at the King of the North.
Let's look at this because Tyre was the great merchandising… And, of course, that was sins of Satan the devil! Ezek. 27 talks about all of the worldwide trading combine of Tyre, and that was built up by Solomon.
Ezekiel 28:1: "The Word of the LORD came to me, saying, 'Son of man, say to the prince of Tyre. "Thus says the Lord GOD," 'Because your heart is lifted up, and you have said, "I am a god, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas"; yet, you are a man and not God, though you set your heart as the heart of a god; behold, you are wiser than Daniel; there is no secret that they can hide from you!'" (vs 1-3). That's something!
Verse 4: "'With your wisdom and with your understanding you have made riches for yourselves, and have gotten gold and silver into your treasuries. By your great wisdom and by your trade you have multiplied your riches, and your heart is lifted up because of your riches.' Therefore, thus says the Lord GOD, 'Because you have set your heart as the heart of a god, behold, therefore, I will bring strangers upon you, the most ruthless of the nations. And they shall draw their swords against the beauty of your wisdom, and they shall defile your brightness'" (vs 4-7). That's going to happen at the end-time.
Notice the trading; notice the power behind it where we talk about Satan the devil. One of the defiling things about Satan the devil is the wrong kind of merchandising. Would you say today that we have the wrong kind of merchandising with a debt currency? The way that you get currency is sign an IOU and go in debt. If I ask you how many here have credit cards, you will all raise your hand. If I ask you how many owe mortgages on your home, most of you would raise your hand.
Verse 17: "Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; you have corrupted your wisdom by reason of your brightness. I will cast you to the ground; I will lay you before kings, that they may behold you." That's applies to Satan and to the beast, because the beast is Satan-possessed!
Verse 18: "By the multitude of your iniquities, by the unrighteousness of your trade, you have profaned your sanctuaries; therefore, I brought forth a fire from your midst; it shall devour you, and I will bring you to ashes upon the earth, before the eyes of all who see you." That's eventually what's going to happen to the beast. He's going to be cast into the Lake of Fire and become ashes.
Let's look at a couple of other things and how this applies to Babylon, because at the end-time we have the king of Tyre, the merchandising, and Babylon. Let's see what it also says about this coming 'great' world leader.
Jeremiah 50:31: "'Behold, I am against you, O arrogant one,' says the Lord GOD of hosts; 'for your day has come, the time that I will punish you. And the most arrogant shall stumble and fall, and none shall raise him up. And I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall burn up everything all around him.' Thus says the LORD of hosts, 'The children of Israel and the children of Judah were oppressed together. And all who captured them held them fast; they refused to let them go. Their Redeemer is strong…'" (vs 31-34). Christ is coming back and will release Israel and Judah out of captivity.
This portrays a little bit of what we get into in the book of Revelation; Jeremiah 51:7: "Babylon has been a golden cup in the LORD'S hand, which made all the earth drunk. The nations have drunk of her wine; therefore, the nations rage." Think! Where is sanity in the world today? It's hard to find! Everybody has been so corrupted.
Verse 8: "Babylon is suddenly fallen and destroyed. Wail for her; take balm for her pain, if perhaps she may be healed. We would have healed Babylon, but she would not be healed. Forsake her and let us go, each one into his own country; for her judgment reaches to the heavens and is lifted up to the skies" (vs 8-9). This sounds an awful lot like Rev. 18.
We talk about that when we're driving on the freeway; how many people are going to and fro right this instant in the world. When it says 'many go to and fro,' stop and think how God fulfills those prophecies. Has anyone calculated how many people are in their cars going someplace anywhere in the world at any given moment of time? Don't have anything concerning cars, but it was estimated that there 150,000 people in the air flying in airplanes all the time over America!
In Isaiah it says that 'there is no end to the chariots.' I was thinking as we listen to these alerts, I wonder how many wrecks they have in the LA basin everyday? How many people die on the freeways just in this area?

Let's see here at the end-time about Babylon the Great. Remember that it is a combination of church and state, and recently the pope has been saying to all of those in Europe, which now consists of nearly 30 nations that are going to be in the European Union, to remember 'your Christian roots.' He really means Catholic roots. So, keep your eyes on that, but let's look at the merchandising part of it:
Revelation 18:3: "Because all nations have drunk of the wine of the fury of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the power of her luxury." Those merchants are the large corporations of the world that actually run the world more than the governments love the world.
Remember that fascism is an alliance between government and industry! So, we are headed rapidly to a fascist state!
Verse 9: "Then the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication with her and have lived luxuriously, will weep and lament for her, when they see the smoke of her burning. They will stand far off for fear of her torment, saying, 'Woe, woe, the great city Babylon, the mighty city! For in one hour your judgment has come.' And the merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her, because no one will buy their merchandise anymore: The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and every article of ivory, and every article of rare wood, and brass, and iron, and marble, and cinnamon, and incense, and ointment, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and cattle, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and the souls of men" (vs 9-13). Sounds like the Port of Los Angeles where 40% of all imported goods come into America from the Far East.
We heard an interview by the one who is in charge of inspecting for Homeland Security, and they have machines that they wear that can detect radiation as small as the amount of natural radiation coming out of bananas. They also have portable trucks that they can come along and just put over the top of one of these big shipping containers and x-ray the whole thing and see what's in it.
Trade is a mammoth thing! When you're coming into Los Angeles there are trucks going out like they're a freight train. You see the freight lines going, and you have trains that are just miles long. What are they doing? They're all merchandising! They're all taking goods and services, and cars and everything that is listed here. Then you multiply that the world over from what you see in one location.
When this whole Babylonian system does come to an end, it's going to be a horrendous thing! It's going to be something! merchandising is really a powerful, powerful part of Satan's way of deceiving people.
Remember what Satan told Jesus? If You bow down and worship me, all shall be yours, for I give to whomsoever I will! All the nations and the glory of them, and that means the power of them, the merchandising of them and everything else.
Let's put some of this together a little bit more with what we've already covered.
Revelation 13:1: "And I stood on the sand of the sea; and I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. And the beast that I saw was like a leopard, and his feet like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion; and the dragon gave him his power, and his throne and great authority" (vs 1-2). Why? Because they worship Satan!
Notice what this is. You go back and read Dan. 7: you have the leopard, the bear, the lion; so, what is this? This the best of all civilizations in the past now put together in a modern setting. The best of everything that man can do.
As this society is coming to the point, they are saying, 'We don't need God to come from heaven and rescue us, we need to rescue ourselves! In other words, we are God!
Verse 3: "And I saw one of his heads as if it were slain to death, but his deadly wound was healed; and the whole earth was amazed and followed the beast. And they worshiped the dragon, who gave his authority to the beast…." (vs 3-4). That's going to be quite a thing! Here in America is the last place where there is any form of Christianity at all.
Isn't it interesting that in America is was produced and distributed—it was done overseas—the film The Passion of Christ! Even the Protestant form of preaching the Gospel in the way that it is in America. This is something! We now have a generation that are Harry Potterized! They're going to be worshipping Satan openly. This is a society that is going to be the last generation. It's not just the little kids, there are a lot of older people that like to read Harry Potter, too, and think it's a great book. They worship the dragon! Isn't that something?
"…And they worshiped the beast, saying, 'Who is like the beast?…'" (v 4). Remember, he is going to have wisdom greater than Daniel. So, what he's going to do in coming into power… When we put the other prophecies together that he starts out a full seven years, then in the midst of the seven years he gets this deadly wound that is healed, he is going to untangle and solve all the problems of the world. It's going to look awesome! They are going to worship him as God. He's going to be declared as God. He is going to proclaim himself as God.
These are the days how far ahead of us, I don't know! But we are looking at some things that are going to come down the pike that are going to be absolutely astounding.
Notice what he does: "'…Who has the power to make war against him?' And a mouth speaking great things… [remember all the things that we read, how he says he is God] …and blasphemies was given to him; and authority was given to him to continue for forty-two months…. [after the wound was healed] …And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, and His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. And he was given power to make war against the saints, and to overcome them; and he was given authority over every tribe and language and nation" (vs 4-7).
Let me just stop and mention here something that we can probably see happen: The United Nations is tired of being restricted in New York City. Are they going to move someplace else? Some have even suggested that they move to Babylon! But it's more than likely that they're going to move to Geneva, Switzerland. When they move there, know for sure that it's just a short time until the United States is going to be in dire trouble!
It's no mystery that all the world hates us. When the power shifts to their side, which it will, it's going to be something, and we're going to have to face the things that are here.
Verse 8: "And all who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world."
So, we're going to be confronted with the greatest challenges in worshipping and serving God that have ever been. Now, how far down the road it is, we don't know! But it's going to happen! It is going to hit a society that is filled with idleness, filled with comfort, having everything at your remote control fingertips to do whatever you want.
It's going to be something when that takes place! Let's see how they're going to start doing it. We'll talk about the mark of the beast in just a minute. There are things that come along leading up to the mark of the beast. Let's read a little about that.
Verse 16: "And he causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free and the bond, to receive a mark in their right hands, or in their foreheads so that no one may have the ability to buy and sell unless he has the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name" (vs 16-17).
- How far along are they technologically speaking?
- What is happening?
- How are they going to do it?
- How is going to be presented in such a way that it is the natural outcome of something that has already been practiced?
You can think of many, many reasons, and good reasons… Remember that not everything good is from God. Did not Satan say to Jesus that 'if you worship me I'll give you the whole world'? How many people would think that's a good thing? They would!
We have to fight the war on terrorism—don't we? This is going to usher in a lot of this. It's going to make the Patriot Act #2 look like sandbox. It's going to start through merchandising.

First of all, it's going to be convenient for buying and selling.
Some worry that the emerging technology will intrude on the privacy of consumers.
You can go online and look up all these things what is called RFID: radio frequency identification device. They're going to use this in products. Wonderful Wal-Mart, saves you money, all made in America from Beijing!
When a Wal-Mart acts, the world of commerce listens. That's why Wal-Mart's decision to require its vendors to implement a new technology. They're calling this a revolutionary system called radio frequency identification device (RFID) turned a lot of heads.
RFID tags are expected to replace bar coding. They are more expensive and contain more information all within a speck not much larger than a speck of dust.
Who would be upset over that? It's so small you can't ever see it. They're not going to put the mark of the beast on human beings until the last. This is, I would say, is the next to the last step of the mark of the beast.
The industry hope that the tags will improve inventory control in the short run. In the long term, the tag could end up on every product we buy, and might end up implanted on ourselves.
By Wal-Mart saying "we're going to do this in a year," they are forcing the industry to come to "some standard that now becomes universal…"
What did we just read? ALL! Isn't all universal? Yes, indeed! They're smart; instead of starting on people they're starting on products, which people need. People can say that it's not the mark of the beast, yet, which is true. But how much closer is it going to be?
…says Paul Reed, owner of BRS, which sells bar coding equipment in Bentwood.
Oh, Oh! He owns a 'horse whip' company. Remember when cars came in, buggy whips went out. If he owns a bar code company, he's stuck. He's got to change everything.
Local Wal-Mart vendors are facing steep costs to comply with the industry giant.

The ones who supply Wal-Mart. This is not a government edict. This is a corporation edict. This is what has been said years ago, that the corporations are going to do more to enforce the mark of the beast than the government. There it is!
…by 2005, and everyone else by 2006. there are some non-Wal-Mart vendors that have already begun to use the RFID to improve on old technologies. Some privacy advocates fear the tags will lead to a "big brother" universe where retailers, the government and even some criminals clandestinely scan and retrieve information about everyone they see.
It's going to be able to contain a lot of information. I remember years ago when they came out with nano-technology, meaning they are able to build what they are building one atom at a time. Now they have this as small as a speck of dust.
The technology seems simple. A nano-chip, similar to the microchip is embedded in tags or labels to identify individual products.
Antennas using radio frequencies can scan those products either in a handheld device or inside a wall or gate. Someday consumers may be able to walk through the gates of grocery stores that automatically scan their shopping carts and deduct the charges from their credit cards.
Watch some of these ads they have television and they're actually programming the way. One ad was a thief that went into a grocery store and he was loading things up in his big overcoat. He stuffed everything into it and he was going out the door and all of a sudden the security policeman showed up and said, 'Don't forget your receipt.' Gottcha!
For now, most of the users are on a smaller scale, which they're using today. This is what they're doing today.
Used car sales company, Car Max, is using RFID to keep track of cars that may leave its lots. A company spokesman said that the tags are taken off when someone buys a car.
So, every car that is on the lot has a little tracking device. If someone thinks they can drive in there and try out a car and then steal it. They will know exactly where you are, and they have a satellite device that they can shut the thing off and tell the police where you are, and you just sit there and wait for the police to come.
They take them out so that the company doesn't keep tabs on the customers when they leave. But what would happen if they left them in there? Remember what they discovered on Super-Bowl Sunday when they said that more people watched TV at a given moment and how they were able to tell that is by T-Bo. They revealed a secret that most people didn't know: we're watching you while you watch
The tags for inventory control are used to deter theft.
Fed Ex Corporation uses the chips inside wristbands of many delivery truck drivers so they can lock and unlock their truck door without fiddling with keys.
The company is also testing wristbands that will also start the truck's automatic ignition system. RFID also is used at Fed Ex's long-haul truck centers to keep track of which trucks are on the lot.
That's going to be a wonderful thing; they're going to hold back on truck-jacking. If they do, they'll know where it is. There is a On Star system in cars; very convenient to find out where you are going, and even talks to you.
They're not telling you that with On Star they know where you are at all times. Also they're not telling you that the United States government is requiring that a listening device be put in there so that at any time the federal government wants to hear your private conversations in a car, all they have to do is just tune in.
Exxon/Mobile gasoline stations let customers swipe "Speed Pass" through a reader. Speed Pass is membership card that automatically deducts the purchase from the consumer's checking account.
Don't have to write a check. Don't have to fiddle with anything. Isn't that convenient?
BF Image Wear, a Nashville based subsidiary of clothing giant BF Corporation, which owns Wrangler, Lee and host of other brands…
Here's one of these real top high-powered super corporations over many other corporations.
BF Image Wear makes uniforms for everyone from airline workers to state park employees. They sell the uniforms, in some cases, to laundries that in turn rent and wash uniforms for places such as mechanic shops where the uniforms to get dirty everyday.
Nashville based manufacturing has been embedding the chips in some uniforms on the request of the laundries. The laundries use them to figure out which employees get the uniforms back from the wash.
The biggest advantage I see with RFID chips is that you don't have to see them with your eyes.
Isn't that wonderful, you don't know where they are.
Image Wear supplies chain business systems, and the manager of that system says, "You can wave a scanner near the chip and without touching it you can identify it." Some chips can be read from about three feet away. Others are equipped with batteries that can be read from as much as 30 feet away.
"The practical benefits are apparent for warehousing and shipping," Reed says. "If you've got a tote going down a conveyor belt…

…it can read all that as it goes through a gateway or down a conveyor belt. It can read several packages simultaneously."
now they're going to make the switch
Murray Ink, whose headquarters is in Brentwood, California, makes lawnmowers and other garden products sold in Wal-Mart, Home Depot and other retailers.
They all jump on the bandwagon. If Wal-Mart does it, then everybody is going to do it.
"It is preparing for a massive switch to RFIDs, which could cost one million dollars per year in tags," according to Director of Logistics Dwight Smith. Overall, from technology and the labor standpoint "it's good," he says. The company will be able to know what inventory is in the warehouse and what is leaving on trucks without having to scan each box.
Smith is hoping that that price of the tags will drop from $.75 to about $.05. Murray Ink must implement the changes.
Technology Run Amuck
Vendors are not the only ones grumbling about the technology. Katharine Albright is the founder and directory of CASPN, which is Consumers Against Supermarket Privacy and Numbering. "It is actually totally misleading to call this an improved barcode," she said. "This is a plan to uniquely number every item on the face of the earth."
Think of that! That blows my mind! Every item on the face of the earth!
Barcodes only identify what type of product, such as Coca Cola in cans…. When it's scanned with RFID it will automatically identify each product. Albright was a leader in the campaign to boycott the Brenton Group when the retailer announced plans to embed chips into a line of trend-setting clothing.
Also with Gillette; they were going to put them in all their razors to identify them. Then they found out that Gillette has little cameras hoisted so they can watch who buys what products. All you have to do is add a little antenna and you know exactly which product they buy.
See what this is going to do? Here are some of the other things that they say that they're afraid of. Based on what people are wearing, the government will be able to use hidden scanners to track people. They'll be able to drive by your house and know exactly what you have in your house. Here's this little chip embedded in all your clothing, all your furniture, all the products you buy at the store. They'll be able to know everything that you own.
"I'm scared of this stuff," says Reed, "and I know about it! The technology has not arrived, yet, to track everyone with the RFID chip," he said, "and some of the uses seem quite beneficial. The government wants to use the technology to track cattle from birth to death."
Good, we can solve the mad cow disease! Then they'll put in the cattle and they'll know who gets what cut.
Wristbands on the elderly in assisted living homes could alert the caregiver if someone has fallen or had a heart attack. Others are researching RFID use in the bloodstream to track health indicators such as blood cell count…
Kind of futuristic right now; it's coming!
When I gave the sermon: Mark of the Beast is Here with Digital Angel some people were excited and afraid that things were happening right away. Like I told you, that was only the beginning. I had absolutely no idea of anything like this with these radio frequency identification devices that they put in every single product.
That's why it's very important for us to understand and realize how we stay right with God so we can succeed in a world like this. This is amazing, all of these things coming down.
Even on a religious radio station, referring to this, that the ultimate purpose of this is to get rid of Christians. That's what it will be! There is a growing body of people who hate God, worship Satan and hate Christians. What better way—because they know what's in the Scriptures—than to know that those who are Christians will not receive it? Then you identify all of them.
The way I read Rev. 13 is that there's going to come a time when everyone is going to have come and be implanted with a chip, in the right hand or the forehead. The right hand is going to be for identification and buying and selling; the forehead is going to be for control. The ultimate purpose for all these things is to control! Satan wants to take away the free choice of people. The way you take it away is to control them.
There are going to other parts of the control that they're not going to tell you about, which is they can also broadcast into the individual whatever they want by some of the global positioning satellites through low frequency radio waves and actually control the thoughts of people.
That's why God says that we are not to take the mark of the beast! We are never, never to give the control of our choice or our mind over to someone else. Here is a device that Satan will have use of to control the whole world!
That's where we sit. It's really quite a things, and they're doing it through merchandising. They're going to start there and then they'll finish with us. That's the state of the world!
