Delores said last night that it kept coming to her, 'Let no man steal your crown.' So, let's start with a Scripture that we all know, and it's in the Bible three times: Matt. 4:4, Luke 4:4 and Deut. 8:3—Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word of God!

When you select what you want and reject what you don't want of the Word of God, you're violating that very thing, the simplest thing that God has. Remember the three words: Obey My voice! Very simple!

People will say, 'How can I know the voice of God?' Well, He's got it written down and translated into more languages than any other book in the world! There are more copies of it everywhere than any other book in the world! Now, multiplied by hundreds of millions with the Internet and the digital phones and iPads, etc.

Now then, let's see where that quote is that I have at the start. Then we will talk about what's happening today and how some people are, again, begin led astray by those whom they trust as their teachers.

Revelation 3:7: "And to the angel of the Church in Philadelphia…" The Church of Brotherly love; but always remember that you can't love the brethren unless you love God first! The love you have for the brethren is the love that comes from God.

"…write: "These things says the Holy One, the One Who is true… [no lies] …the One Who has the key of David…" (v 7)—the understanding how you can be in contact with God!

Some people think that means the key to prophecy. No! David's strong point was being in contact with God. God even said that David was 'a man after My own heart.' That's the key of David, which shows that even when he sinned with Bathsheba, and later in numbering Israel, that he repented! There's no one perfect! Therefore, when we are in our proper New Covenant relationship with God.

When we are in a proper New Covenant relationship with God and have God's Spirit, we are under grace, which means that we have direct contact with God the Father and Jesus Christ. Grace by the world and Protestantism is that you have your sins forgiven. That is one facet of grace! You have:

  • the grace of understanding
  • the grace of loving
  • the grace of staying close to God

Direct contact through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ to God the Father in heaven above, and Jesus Christ at His right hand.

"…Who opens and no one shuts, and Who shuts and no one opens. I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, and no one has the power to shut it because you have a little strength… [it's going to be small, not large] …and have kept My Word…" (vs 7-8). Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word of God!

Also, remember when you read this that Jesus was the Lord God of the Old Testament. So therefore, if you keep His Word, then you are keeping everything that God wants you to keep throughout His whole Word.

"…and have not denied My name" (v 8). How do you deny the name of Jesus Christ? By works that are evil that you say are done in the name of God! So, if you keep His Word you're not going to deny His name.

Verse 9: "Behold, I will make those of the synagogue of Satan…" The easiest way to understand that, the elite of the world—in government and religion…

Look at us, we're nothing! If someone told the elite of the world directly that there are 'these people scattered around the world that you know they're of the lowest class of all. But they claim that when Christ returns they're going to rule the world!' Bah Humbug! They wouldn't believe that.

  • What education do they have?
  • What degrees do they have?
  • Where did they get their degrees in college? and post college?
  • How come we haven't heard of them?

If they're going to rule the world, they should be in contact with us, because we're ruling it now! Well, change is coming, folks!

"…who proclaim themselves to be Jews and are not, but do lie…. [that is that they have the way to salvation] …Behold, I will cause them to come and worship before your feet… [that's going to be humbling] …and to know that I have loved you" (v 9). That's a real important thing!

Verse 10: "Because you have kept the Word of My patience, I also will keep you from the time of temptation…"

We covered that recently with the coming mark of the beast. Sweden is about 75% already running with digital in the hand.

"…which is about to come upon the whole world to try those who dwell on the earth. Behold, I am coming quickly; hold fast that which you have so that no one may take away your crown" (vs 10-11).

How are people going to take away your crown? By convincing you of something that is not true, and you believe it and follow it! That just happened last week. The successor organization to the Worldwide Church of God—Grace Fellowship International—has just announced that they are no longer keeping the Feasts of God. I don't think that they would say the Feasts of God, but no longer keeping the Feast.

Those who go along with it are then going to be introduced into keeping the Lord's Supper every Sunday. They ran thing a little strangely, because a lot of groups with them switched over to Sunday. But the main body of a lot of them in Pasadena let them keep the Sabbath and Holy Days. So, the announcement was to them. We'll see what happens.

Let's analyze some thing that are very important concerning the Word of God. We're going to take an overview of different things. They rejected the Sabbath to begin with. First of all they said they weren't going to reject the Sabbath. Then later they said:

The Protestants were right so we're going to keep Sunday. If you want to keep the holidays that's perfectly all right.

The final shoe to drop is the Festivals. Notice that they did this step-by-step-by-step, which is incrementalism. So, we're going to refer to a lot of Scriptures that we won't turn to.

What is the first thing that God made Holy for mankind? Sabbath (Gen. 2)! He blessed the Sabbath Day because He rested on it. He sanctified it meaning He made it Holy, That was from the beginning!

Adam and Eve

The first thing that Satan convinced Adam and Eve to do was to use their own intelligence to decide what is right and wrong:

You don't necessarily have to believe in God. He may have some things that are right, but just think of what you can do because you're so smart.

How did that go? Not very good! They were kicked out of the Garden of Eden, everything was cursed. Then Eve had Cain and Abel, and after a length of time Cain went sour, didn't bring the right offering to God and God told him that if he would do what is right he would be accepted. 'Why are you mad because you didn't do right? If you do right I'll accept you.'

But Cain didn't do it, so in turn what did Cain do? He killed Abel! The sum total of Gen. 6 is that the earth was full of sin and corruption, and God had to destroy it. Why? Because they left the Word of God!

Noah

Noah was a righteous man, which means that he loved God and kept His commandments.

Abraham

Let's see why God passed the blessing on to Isaac. Of course, it also shows that the world was extremely evil during the days of Abraham. Here was the one man who would love God and keep His commandments, would obey Him and do what He said.

Analyze how it started out in Gen. 12 where God said:

You go where I want you to go, and you leave your father and your father's house and I will bless you and make your name great. Those who bless you I will bless and those who curse you I will curse.

Genesis 26:2—God is speaking to Isaac: "And the LORD appeared to him and said, 'Do not go down into Egypt. Live in the land, which I shall tell you of. Stay in this land, and I will be with you and bless you… [those are powerful words] …for to you and to your seed, I will give all these lands; and I will establish the oath, which I swore to Abraham your father" (vs 2-3). Remember how that was sealed? Isaac was offered (Gen. 22)!

Verse 4: "And I will multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens… [referring to those who will be in the Kingdom of God spiritually] …and will give to your seed all these lands. And in your seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed… [prophecy of Christ] …because… [God didn't say because Isaac was righteous, which he was without a doubt; but]: …Abraham obeyed My voice and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My laws" (vs 4-5).

Read Rev. 3 about the Church of Philadelphia: Because you have kept My Word and have not denied My name! Same thing, just said a little be differently.

The Children of Israel

They're brought out of the land of Egypt[transcriber's correction] and brought to Mt. Sinai, God speaks the Ten Commandments and the fourth one is to remember the Sabbath Day to keep it Holy!

Then God told Moses to tell the people all the things that He wrote in addition to the Ten Commandments. Tell the people that 'IF they will obey Me, I will be their God and they shall be My people!'

You know what happened, Exo. 24, the covenant was made with them. The sacrifice was made, and the sacrifice was a special sacrifice. Half the blood was sprinkled upon the Book of the Law, half was sprinkled on the people, and they said that 'all that God has said we will do.'

God said, 'All right, Moses, you bring up Aaron, Nadab and Abihu and 70 of the elders of Israel. They came up part way on Mt. Sinai and they saw God walking on a Sea of Glass. Then God told Moses to 'Come up here!' And the very first thing He told them to make after the two tablets, was to make a sanctuary and a tabernacle. Why did God want that?

Exodus 25:8: "And let them make Me a sanctuary so that I may dwell among them." God put His presence there!

  • Isn't that how it started out with Adam and Eve? Here it is that God said the same thing!
  • What did the children of Israel do? They rebelled!

When Moses was up on the mountain let's see what God told Moses concerning the Sabbath. The very last thing that God told Moses, before he came down off Mt. Sinai, to the children of Israel.

Exodus 31:13: "Speak also to the children of Israel, saying, 'Truly… [in truth] …you shall keep My Sabbaths… [plural, because every Holy Day is a Sabbath; this includes all of them] …for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations to know that I am the LORD Who sanctifies you.'" That carries on right on down to our time!

Then God reiterates the weekly Sabbath and makes it very clear; v 14: "You shall keep the Sabbath, therefore, for it is Holy to you. Everyone that defiles it shall surely be put to death, for whoever does any work on it, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. Six days may work be done, but on the seventh day is the Sabbath of rest, Holy to the LORD. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath Day, he shall surely be put to death. Therefore, the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant" (vs 14-16).

What does perpetual mean? On going! Let's get a short example of perpetual when they were in the wilderness. What did God send every day and then on the sixth day twice as much? The manna! So, they knew when the Sabbath was perpetually, and that's what they had every week for the 40 years. That was a mini-type of perpetually keeping the Sabbath.

You know what they did, they made the golden calf. The bane of human nature is that human nature always comes up with ideas that justify leaving God. So, they told Aaron to make them a golden calf. You know the rest of the story with that. Let's see a summary of this, because Ezek. 20 is a very powerful chapter. The whole chapter is an amazing thing.

Ezekiel 20:1: "And it came to pass in the seventh year, in the fifth month, the tenth day of the month, that some of the elders of Israel came to ask of the LORD, and sat before me. And the Word of the LORD came to me, saying, 'Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel and say to them, "Thus says the Lord GOD, 'Have you come to inquire of Me? As I live,' says the Lord GOD, 'I will not be inquired of by you.'" Will you judge them, son of man, will you judge them? Cause them to know the abominations of their fathers. And say to them, "Thus says the Lord GOD: 'In the day that I chose Israel, and lifted up My hand to the seed of the house of Jacob, and made Myself known to them in the land of Egypt; when I lifted up My hand to them, saying, "I am the LORD your God." In the day that I lifted up My hand to them, to bring them out from the land of Egypt into a land that I had searched out for them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands; then I said to them, "Let each man throw away the abominations of his eyes, and do not defile yourselves with the idols of Egypt. I am the LORD your God."'" (vs 1-7). That's the equivalent of repent!

Verse 8: "But they rebelled against Me and would not hearken to Me. They did not each man throw away the abominations of their eyes, nor did they forsake the idols of Egypt. And I said, 'I will pour out My fury against them to fulfill My anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.'" God almost took care of them in Egypt!

Verse 9: "But I worked for My name's sake, that it should not be profaned before the heathen among whom they were, for I made Myself known to them in their eyes, by bringing them out of the land of Egypt. And I caused them to go out from the land of Egypt, and brought them into the wilderness. And I gave them My statutes and showed them My ordinances, which if a man do, he shall even live in them" (vs 9-11)—because the way of God is to live in the laws and commandments of God, because they are good for us!

I defy anyone to show any Law of God that is detrimental to us! It's called the perfect Law of God! If it's perfect then there's nothing man can add to it—being imperfect—to make God's way better.

Verse 12: "And also I gave them My Sabbaths… [plural] …to be a sign between Me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD Who sanctifies them. But the house of Israel rebelled against Me in the wilderness; they did not walk in My statutes, and they despised My ordinances, which if a man does, he shall even live in them. And they greatly polluted My Sabbaths…." (vs 12-13).

Also read the book of Jeremiah, God gave them chances IF they would quit sacrificing the children and keep the Sabbaths, the God wouldn't sent them into exile.

"…And I said, 'I will pour out My fury on them in the wilderness to destroy them'" (v 13). Then God reiterates here that He showed the children of Israel when they were ready to go into the land!

Verse 18: "But I said to their children in the wilderness, 'Do not walk in the statutes of your fathers, nor observe their judgments, nor defile yourselves with their idols. I am the LORD your God. Walk in My statutes, and keep My ordinances, and do them, and keep My Sabbaths Holy…'" (vs 18-20).

That's why there's so much in the Bible about the Sabbath and Sabbath-breaking and rejecting God. It all starts with the Sabbath.

"'…and they shall be a sign between Me and you, that you may know that I am the LORD your God.' But the children rebelled against Me. They did not walk in My statutes, nor keep My ordinances to do them—the ordinances which, if a man do, he shall even live in them. And they polluted My Sabbaths, and I said, I would pour out My fury on them, to fulfill My anger against them in the wilderness. Nevertheless, I withdrew My hand…" (vs 20-22)—from them and turned them over to their own devices, which were their own statutes and judgments which they devised!

When a person rejects God, at a certain point God is going to turn them over to their own devices! Then that will destroy them; that is their punishment!

Jesus Christ

  • a lot of people think that the Law is done away
  • a lot of people think that we don't have to keep the laws of 'the Jews'

They forget that all of those are the laws of God!

Christ comes, born of the virgin Mary, grows up and then He comes as our Savior and fulfilling the prophecy that God gave to Moses, that God would raise up a Prophet like unto Moses and everyone is going to hear Him. The one who doesn't is going to die!

We know that Jesus was the Lord God of the Old Testament Who was the One Who created the Sabbath, gave it to Adam and Eve and all of their descendants rejected it. Then gave it to the children of Israel and they rejected it. The ten northern tribes were sent off into captivity by the Assyrians. Then the Jews rejected it and God had to destroy Jerusalem and send them into captivity to Babylon.

They came back and they learned the lesson of the Sabbath and kept it pretty much down to the time of Christ.

Let's see what Jesus says concerning the Sabbath. We won't go through the whole story of it, but come to:

Mark 2:27: "And He said to them, 'The Sabbath was made for man…'"—or on account of man. There would be no reason to make the Sabbath day unless God had created Adam and Eve. Made for man, blessed and sanctified it and made it Holy so that all the human beings that would come from Adam and Eve would be able to be in contact with God, if they kept the Sabbath!

"…and not man for the Sabbath" (v 27). In other \words, He did not make the Sabbath first and then make man. It was made specifically for mankind.

I do not know how Sunday-keepers, if they think they know the Bible, and if they ever read this verse (v 28)… They probably say, 'Well, we transferred it to the first day of the week.' Can you transfer something, or change something that God has made and created, and commanded to be kept, and come and say that you're going to do it on Sunday? No man can do that!

If it were to be Sunday, what would Jesus have to have said? You've heard it said in ancient times that you shall not kill, but I say to you that if you hate you're killing your brother!

He would have had to said something like this: You have heard it said in the past to remember the Sabbath to keep it Holy, but I am telling you that I'm transferring it to the first day of the week, and remember the first day of the week to keep it Holy.

  • Can you find that in the New Testament? No!
  • What do you find?

Verse 28: "Therefore… [because of the very creation of the Sabbath and mankind] …the Son of man is Lord even of the Sabbath."

Why did He tell the Jews that specifically? Because they had so many traditions, rules and laws that they made the Sabbath a burden! That's why He said it that way.

Since we're talking about false prophets, remember what Jesus said concerning the Law and the Prophets: Don't think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets! I did not come to abolish but to fulfill! Then He said, 'Till heaven and earth pass away, the laws and commandments are not passed away, or the Law and the Prophets.' Plus, the words of this prophecy, 'heaven and earth may pass away, but My words will not pass away.'

Think of that in regard to God giving the Ten Commandments to Israel, and then giving all the instructions to those in the Church, those who are called.

Matthew 5:48: "Therefore, you shall be perfect…" Jesus is telling the whole operation and the meaning of the New Testament! To become perfect! How?

"…even as your Father Who is in heaven is perfect" (v 48). Take that verse and expand everything in the New Testament from there.

Since God is perfect, His Law is perfect and His Word is perfect, can any man who is imperfect devise something to improve it? NO! But will that stop men from trying? Here's one of the very first things Jesus warned them about:

Matthew 7:13: "Enter in through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many are those who enter through it; for narrow is the gate and difficult is the way that leads to life, and few are those who find it" (vs 13-14).

Now then, Jesus knew by the nature of man, the nature of Satan that men would like to take part of what God says, use the name of Jesus Christ, use some of the words of God and create their own religion! That's precisely what they did! Did not the Jews do that? Yes, they did!

Verse 15: "But beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep's clothing, for within they are ravening wolves." They're probably really nice; a lot of them are really nice. That is pseudo niceness; it doesn't come from the Spirit of God!

  • Don't you think that Satan can come with his pseudo, or false niceness and convince people to do things?
  • How do you think that he convinced Adam and Eve?

He probably said, 'Look, here are some of the benefits that you'll get. God hasn't told you about this.' Don't they have a lot of works that they do that sound really good? Some of them may even be what God would have you do, but if that deceives people into accepting lies, then you can see the problem.

Verse 16: "You shall know them by their fruits…." What are the fruits? What they say that God says! When many times God did not say it!

That's why we have Appendix N: Rome's Challenge to the Protestants (The Holy Bible in Its Original Order, A Faithful Version) There is not one place in the New Testament that sanctifies Sunday-keeping. Yet, those who were in Worldwide Church of God and setup Grace Fellowship International went from the Sabbath to Sunday by fully accepting the Protestants interpretations, and the bad translations of the Bible.

That's why we have The Holy Bible in Its Original Order, A Faithful Version, and with every Bible that goes out now, we send Joseph Ackermann's eight-year research—New Testament Scripture Comparisons—checking out 27 different translations of the New Testament and found over 2500 words missing. I don't know if he checked the additions, but there were words added that made it look like Paul did away with the Law. But that wasn't so.

So, the fruits, not looking at good works… People will say that if you feed the poor, that's good, and if you clothe them that's good. Isn't that what God said? But come to church on Sunday and we'll all get our instructions in what we're going to do.

Or, let's take care of them on Thanksgiving and Christmas and all of that sort of thing. Let's have a big party for all the kids on Halloween. Those are the fruits of the false prophets.

"…They do not gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles, do they? In the same way, every good tree produces good fruit…" (vs 16-17). If you are of God:

  • What do you want?
  • Do you want the Truth of God?
  • Do you want the Truth of the Word of God?
  • Do you want to love God?

The good fruits are:

  • keeping the Sabbath
  • keeping the Holy Days
  • helping one another

Because it comes from God's Spirit! But the counterfeit out here is all wrapped around Satan's days. Yet, they use the name of Jesus!

"…but a corrupt tree produces evil fruit. A good tree cannot produce evil fruit, nor can a corrupt tree produce good fruit. Every tree that is not producing good fruit is cut down and is cast into the fire" (vs 17-19).

First it is cut down! Wouldn't you say that that's what's happened to every church that has left the Sabbath and gone to Sunday? left the Holy Days and gone to the holidays of this world?

It's one thing to be out here in the world and you're blinded; it's another thing to be called of God and understand the Word of God to the extent that you know what is right and wrong, and then you leave it and make it official by saying that 'we're no longer going to keep the Feasts of God.' They have already abandoned Sunday.

"…cast into the fire"—When does that happen? That's the ultimate, the Lake of Fire!

Verse 20: "Therefore, you shall assuredly know them by their fruits. Not everyone who says to Me 'Lord, Lord' shall enter into the Kingdom of Heaven; but the one who is doing the will of My Father, Who is in heaven" (vs 20-21).

Obey My voice! Kept My charge, commandments, statutes and laws! That's what was said of Abraham. Isn't that what we do? The Holy Days are the ordinances of God. We keep the Sabbath, Holy Days and the Passover is the most important thing of God. That's why we have The Christian Passover book.

Sidebar: We have the Passover book all read on two CDs. So, I thought, since my radio doesn't work, but the CD player does, I took both CDs down on my trip to Pasadena. As I was going out of town I put in the first CD. I didn't even get to the end of it by time I got to Pasadena. I stopped by Randy's, but first missed the turnoff coming down 101, I had to go clear to the 405, go back north on 405 and west on 101 so I was an hour and a half late and still didn't get to the end of the first CD.

Let me tell you that that is the most researched book on the topic that is in publication today, to defend and show the Truth of the Passover, Old Testament and New Testament.

If you haven't read it, read it! If you don't have the CDs, ask and we'll send them to you {truthofGod.org} I think you will be amazed what you will hear as you're listening to it, because of all the research that has gone into it. We have quotes that no one else has.

Just like one quote from a Karaite rabbi who says, 'We no longer keep anything on the 14th because of the sins of our fathers, and of the sins that we have committed. We are exiled from the land and cannot keep the Passover.'

They have the 15th, the 1st day of Unleavened Bread renamed Passover, and a lamb shank and they say the Passover commemorates the coming out of Egypt.

WRONG! The Passover commemorates God Passover over their houses! No one else has that quote. That was a hard one to find because the Passover book was written before we had Google. We had books and had to really look them up.

That is the first thing, in addition to the Feast days, that they attack. After getting rid of the Feast days, what was the next proposition that they're going to bring up—which they've already hinted at—the Lord's Supper every Sunday. So, that shows what's going to happen!

Verse 22: "Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy through Your name?…. [every time I read that I think of TBN] …And did we not cast out demons through Your name? And did we not perform many works of power through Your name?' And then I will confess to them, 'I never knew you. Depart from Me, you who work lawlessness'" (vs 22-23)—rejecting the Laws of God and putting in your own laws! That's the ultimate of lawlessness.

Verse 24: "Therefore, everyone who hears these words of Mine and practices them, I will compare him to a wise man, who built his house upon the rock."

It goes through everything about God's way and all the Scriptures. This was actually thought of by Jim and Betty Hyles as a result of getting the information ready. This is a Transcript Book with the CDs to go with it. If you don't have it, be sure and get it; it will help you a great deal.

We've been working on getting the entire Bible—since we have it read and it's online—on CDs. They sent the first one and it had a top that we didn't like, so I designed one that is a top that we like and they are going to make a sleeve that will cover the whole thing. That way it won't be tearing and coming apart. But the whole Bible will be on 10 CDs.

Book: Genesis Characters and Events in Ancient Greek Art by Robert Bowie Johnson. It's quite and astounding book. This reveals one way that Satan shows what he does without it necessarily written down. He does it with art.

On the History Channel, they're bringing up all of these things and accrediting it to aliens. In a way that is true. Satan the devil and the demons are the ones behind all of it. So, you stretch that out to today, the way for the return of Christ is being paved for the world to fight against Christ by saying that aliens are coming. It will look like and it will be aliens will be coming: Christ and all the saints!

*****

Let's come to the New Testament and look at it this way: the N.T. substantiates the Sabbath and Christ is the Lord of the Sabbath. It substantiates all of the Holy Days, and in particular the 14th Passover, and that is the covenant ceremony for us.

I do not know why they emphasize 'the supper' except out of 1-Cor. 11, but notice what it says here:

Passover and Unleavened Bread

Mark 14:12: "And on the first day of the unleaveneds… [read the footnote for that (The Holy Bible in It's Original Order), showing that the Passover Day is a day of unleavened bread] …when they were killing the Passover lambs…"

Jesus and the disciples were on the top of the Mt. of Olives coming down into the city. They could see that all of pilgrims who were camping on the Mt. of Olives and they had the lambs or kid goats and killing them right then at that time (present tense participle).

Jesus didn't yet tell the disciples where they were going to keep the Passover. The reason that He didn't was that He didn't want Judas Iscariot bringing the 'arresting squad' over to where they were keeping the Passover. So, Jesus had it all planned out between Him and the Father and the angels. The angels made it all happen.

"…His disciples said to Him, 'Where do You desire that we go and prepare, so that You may eat the Passover?'" (v 12). To keep the Passover means that you eat the Passover!

Verse 13: "And He sent two of His disciples, and said to them, 'Go into the city, and you shall meet a man carrying a pitcher of water; follow him.'" All prearranged!

Think about how this had to be done by the angels, because what were the odds that they could come down off the Mt. of Olives, go on into Jerusalem and then at the right time meet a man carrying a pitcher of water and you follow him to his house.

Verse 14: "'And whatever house he shall enter, say to the master of the house that the Teacher says, "Where is the guest chamber, where I may eat the Passover with My disciples?" And he shall show you a large upper room, furnished and ready. There prepare for us'" (vs 14-15).

Now, the Passover becomes the key important thing in the beginning of the New Testament Church. Just like the Passover was the key important thing in bringing the children of Israel out of Egypt. So, you can see the parallel with it.

It's not a 'supper' anymore with a lamb. The last Passover of Jesus had to have the lamb to end the Old Covenant Passover. Then He broke the bread and said, 'Take, eat; this is My body, which is broken for you.' Then He took the wine and said, 'Drink of it, for this is My blood of the New Covenant, which is shed for the remission of sins.'

So, the whole Passover is central and everything about the Passover must be according to the time that Jesus did it, at the same time that Jesus did it. And of course, on the day portion of it He was crucified and became the sacrifice for the sin of the world.

Now we're going to look at the various places where it talks about the Holy Days and things like this. The Church at Corinth was composed of Jews and Gentiles.

1-Corinthians 5:7: "Therefore, purge out the old leaven, so that you may become a new lump, even as you are unleavened. For Christ our Passover was sacrificed for us." It has to be the Passover!

Besides, when they take it Sunday morning, how do you eat a supper in the morning? How can it be a supper when you take bread and grape juice. The Mormons are 'more righteous' because they take bread and water, that's because they're 'in prison.'

Verse 8: "For this reason, let us keep the Feast…" of Unleavened Bread; that's clear. The New Testament has a lot of references to these things. In 1-Cor. 11 they were doing it with a supper, and Paul wrote them that 'no, you don't do it with a supper.'

1-Corinthians 11:17: "Now in this… [Paul had a lot of things to correct them on] …that I am commanding you, I do not praise you, because when you assemble together, it is not for the better but for the worse."

  • Why? Because there was too much sin in the congregation!
  • What should we have within the fellowships and congregation?
    • peace
    • harmony
    • love
    • understanding

Remember how it was when things were being all torn apart and upside down! It was terrible!

Verse 18: "For first of all, I hear that there are divisions among you when you are assembled together in the Church, and I partly believe it. For it is necessary that heresies be among you…" (vs 18-19). That's quite a statement!

  • Why is it necessary that heresies come along?
  • What do you do when they come along?

Especially for us today since we have the whole Word of God! Paul said to prove all things, hold fast to that which is good! So, we look and see if there's a heresy that comes along, we look and find out where it is wrong, or if it's correct knowledge, where is it right? Does it agree with the Scriptures? If it doesn't agree with the Scriptures, we reject it!

"…so that the ones who are approved may become manifest among you. Therefore, when you assemble together in one place, it is not to eat the Lord's supper" (vs 19-20). Think of that!

It say that it's not to, then Paul tells them, v 34: "But if anyone is hungry, let him eat at home, so that there will be no cause for judgment when you assemble together…." No meal! Even, yet today there are some people who say that we have to have meal.

Now let's see what else they have where they have the supper; v 22: "WHAT! Don't you have houses for eating and drinking? Or do you despise the Church of God, and put to shame those who have nothing? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you in this? I do not praise you! For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which He was betrayed took bread; and after giving thanks, He broke it and said, 'Take, eat; this is My body, which is being broken for you….'" (vs 22-24)—showing that the sacrifice is always in the present tense for the remission of sins!

"'…This do in the remembrance of Me.' In like manner, He also took thecup after He had supped, saying, 'This is the cup of the New Covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in the remembrance of Me.'" (vs 24-25). Aha! Take it anytime you want to; that's what a lot of people think when they read that!

But Passover is how many times a year? Once! One day! They were expecting the return of Christ during their lifetimes, so Paul was saying:

Verse 26: "For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you solemnly proclaim the death of the Lord until He comes."

There's a special Greek word 'an' and whenever that is there it can't be translated. But it is there to tell you that this sentence has conditions to it. What are the conditions? Once a year on the Passover Day until He comes! As often as it was going down year-by-year till He comes, that's what it means.

Pentecost

In the Old Testament Pentecost was when God gave the Ten Commandments to the children of Israel. In the New Covenant God gives the Holy Spirit. Is not the Holy Spirit the power that God gives us to love Him and obey Him and keep His commandments? What was the problem with the children of Israel? They were never converted! They could keep it in the letter, but there was nothing that really changed the carnal mind that much. But here in the New Testament it is all now changing the mind, the thoughts, the heart, the attitude and having it converted so that we are now spiritually empowered with the Holy Spirit of God. That's what Pentecost pictures. Isn't it interesting, it also pictures the first resurrection!

Sidebar: During the Millennium they're going to live about a hundred years. We know that when those who are ready to enter into the spiritual Kingdom of God they will be transformed from flesh to spirit, just like those who are alive when Christ returns. That transformation will be an instantaneous death and resurrection.

Speculation: Do you suppose that those who are going to be transformed from flesh to spirit during the Millennium will be transformed on the Day of Pentecost in their hundredth year? I don't know! I just bring that up for thought! It's not dogmatic. Wouldn't that be the perfect time to do that?

Acts 2—the pouring out of the Spirit of God and then the message of repentance and baptism to receive the Holy Spirit. Fantastic, isn't it? Then we have all the things that they do through the book of Acts.

What do we have in Acts 8? Simon Magus, a false prophet who wants to buy the power of the Holy Spirit! The apostles tell them in so many words to 'go to the grave with your idea unless you repent!' Simon Magus never repented. Where did He eventually end up in 42A.D. In Rome! That was the 'Peter' that went to Rome!

Acts 12—Let's see what time of the year this took place, and this tells us that the New Testament Church followed the Calculated Hebrew Calendar.

Acts 12:1: "Now, about that time, Herod the king stretched forth his hands to persecute some of those of the Church; and he killed James, the brother of John, with the sword. And when he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded to take Peter also. (Now, those were the Days of Unleavened Bread.)" (vs 1-3). They were keeping the Days of Unleavened Bread! If they kept them, we keep them!

Then you know how it got out and that's the second time that happened to Peter. Remember the first time was when all the apostles were arrested and put in 'the hold' and were told, 'Don't you dare preach anymore in the name of Jesus Christ.' Then an angel came and let them all out and said, 'Go to the Temple and start teaching.'

So, the soldiers came to find the apostles while in prison to bring them before the Sanhedrin, and it was empty. The guards were standing there and they didn't know that they got out. So, they were eventually brought to the Sanhedrin and Peter said, 'The only name that you're saved by is Jesus Christ, and God only gives the Holy Spirit to those who obey Him.'

Acts 16[transcriber's correction]—you can't see it in the English, but it's in the Greek. When Paul went into the synagogue, it was on the day of the weeks, which is Pentecost!

Day of Atonement

When did Jesus begin His ministry officially? He began His ministry with the temptation of Satan the devil and that was on a Wednesday, the middle of the week, which was the Day of Atonement in a Jubilee Year. Then Jesus went to Nazareth and He revealed to them that He was the Messiah on the Day of Pentecost.

Acts 16—When they went to pray by the river, that was on the Day of the Weeks—Pentecost!

So, what are we doing in the New Testament? If you claim to be a 'New Testament Christian' what should you be doing? Exactly what you find in the New Testament and in the Word of God in the Old Testament, as brought out to us, that we need to keep these days!

  • this reveals to us the plan of God
  • this helps us understand what we need to do and how to live

Acts 27—Day of Atonement

In A Harmony of the Gospels you find when Jesus was born? Feast of Trumpets! Look at what we have just in the New Testament alone.

  • When is Christ and all the saints going to come back down to the earth from the Sea of Glass? On the Feast of Trumpets!
  • When is Satan going to be put away? On the Day of Atonement!

That's when Jesus began His ministry, on the Day of Atonement, Wednesday, the 4th day of the week. He was crucified on the 4th day of the week, Passover. His ministry was 44 months long. He was tempted 40 days and He saw the disciples at the end for 40 days.

Quite an amazing thing when you put it together. In Jesus' 3-1/2 year ministry there were two leap years with Adar 2. So it was 44 months!

Let's look at some of the warning of the false prophets. In James there's no warning. In 1-Peter there is no warning except in 1-Pet. 5—don't let Satan get you, but resist him in the faith!

2-Pet. 2 is an entirely different proposition. Now those false prophets were getting organized and they were coming into the Church. The process was that they would come into the Church and then leave. Later it was that they took over and would kick the brethren out. Sound familiar? Same pattern!

2-Peter 2:1: "But there were also false prophets among the people, as indeed there will be false teachers among you, who will stealthily introduce destructive heresies…"

Stealthily means secretly, and we could add incrementally because that's how it came. I look back on when I resigned the WCG in 1979; it took until 1995 until the true colors were known. I said that 'forces are going to be set in motion to tear the Church asunder.' It's happened, but it took place over a period of time!

From that time until now the whole system has been changed, stealthily! These men came in knowing what they were going to do! They deliberately did it! The main thing that started it was the 14th/15th Passover with the paper by Kuhn and Grabbe {truthofGod.org} That was the original body blow to cause confusion among the ranks. Garner Ted Armstrong accepted it, and then began to call the Passover 'the Lord's Supper.'

Also Robert Kuhn advised certain people to bring the lawsuit against the Church to cut it asunder! So, it went into Receivership, but lo and behold, Herbert Armstrong didn't die, so they couldn't take over the Church at that time.

That's how they came in. They were there and advisors and in high positions. They brought in their own people to fill in the gap under them so that they could have the takeover work. It took them longer than they figured, but did it work? Yes, it did!

"…personally denying the Lord who bought them, and bringing swift destruction upon themselves. And many people… [this is why it's so important for us] …will follow as authoritative their destructive ways; and because of them, the way of the Truth will be blasphemed" (vs 1-2).

1-John—the antichrists that leave. We have those who believe in the Father but don't believe in the Son. We have those who believe in the Son, but not the Father. John says that you have to have both!

2-John—John says that he didn't want to write any more with pen and paper, but speak to them mouth-to-mouth.

3-John—they were kicking the brethren out of the Church.

Jude—this is what Delores mentioned when we were talking about this. When the announcement was made to reject the Holy Days (GFI) did anyone stand up and say, 'No way!'? Nobody did! Let's hope they rethink it. When times get tough we do have to fight for the faith! That's what Jude wrote.

Jude 3: "Beloved, when personally exerting all my diligence to write to you concerning the common salvation, I was compelled to write to you, exhorting you to ferventlyfight for the faith…"

So, if someone comes in with heresy you "fervently fight for the faith…" and get rid of them. If they won't leave, then you leave! That's what Paul said in 1-Tim. 6—If anyone is not adhering to the sound words of Jesus Christ, leave!

"…which once for all time has been delivered to the saints. For certain men have stealthily crept in…" (vs 3-4). That's exactly how it happened!

I'm sure that down through history that this has happened over and over and over again. That's how Satan works!

You finish the rest of it, but don't let anyone steal your crown! As these things come down they will be known as they occur!
