We're going to see exactly what we are up against!
1-Timothy 4:1: "Now, the Spirit tells us explicitly that in the latter times some shall apostatize from the faith, and shall follow deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons."
Now, this is what we are seeing with everything that's been going on with the news. I don't know about you, but I've really felt assaulted from all of these things. The way that different ones are thinking, it is absolutely amazing. So, here's what they do.
Verse 2: "Speaking lies in hypocrisy…" They know that! Do you want to go to this church?:
Article: Atheist Pastors, Drag Clowns and Terrorist Apologies
Where is Christ? Nowhere, to be found! Everything that is true is ridiculed.
Verse 2: "Speaking lies in hypocrisy, their consciences having been cauterized with a hot iron; forbidding to marry…" (vs 2-3).
Now then, what we need to understand is this: everything out there now is geared to continuing:
- to destroy the family
- to destroy the knowledge of man and woman
In San Francisco, they're celebrating the first trans-district; that is a voting district in San Francisco that is 100% trans.
Not only do they speak lies and hypocrisies, but they are completely deceived by Satan the devil; we know that based on Rev. 12:9. Whenever Satan says anything that sounds like it's true, it's to foster a lie. Everything that Satan brings out destroys:
- hearts
- minds
- lives
- children
I've got a special report on 'AI Toys For Children. Think about it.
- What do children need? Exactly what God provided, a father and a mother!
- Can a toy, a talking toy, even make sense and have conversations?
- How can that possibly be a replacement of the love of mother and the love of father and the teaching that they should have? There's nothing that can do it!
And everything is geared that way!
Now, think of it this way: Probably more than 50% of those who are in the tech industry are homosexuals, lesbians, and sexual perverts.
How many saw the big meeting that Donald Trump had just last week with all the most intelligent tech people coming to the White House for dinner? Big table, all of them there. I wonder what the feeling was about who's the greatest and what they're doing and so forth.
But they're going to try and help really make America great again. But what's going to happen is it may have some success temporarily, but it's going to introduce every evil that men have contrived all the way down through history!
So, what does this present us with? We actually are in a spiritual warfare! And that spiritual warfare is on several fronts:
- self and the sin within
- Satan and the society
That's the great battle that's really going on right now in education. I saw on the news last night that this young girl came home from school, and she didn't know if she was a boy or a girl because of the teachings of the teachers.
So, when you have complete, absolute freedom with no constraints on anything, that leads to total destruction. Let's see this for the war that we have.
1-Timothy 1:18: "This charge I am personally committing to you, my son Timothy, in accordance with the prophecies that were made long ago concerning you; in order that by them you yourself might wage a good war."
Because it is warfare that we are in, spiritual warfare!
We are told in 2-Cor. 10 that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal. We have to use:
- the Spirit of God
- the Word of God
to always be looking to overcome and put all of these things aside and away from us!
1-Timothy 6:12: "Fight the good fight of the faith! Take hold of eternal life to which you were also called, and did profess a good profession in the presence of many witnesses. I charge you in the sight of God..." (vs 12-13).
So let's look at it this way. We have these charges from God.
- we need to yield to God
- we need to yield to His Spirit
- we need to understand His Word
- we need to learn to live by every Word of God
Verse 13: "I charge you in the sight of God, Who gives life to every living thing, and Jesus Christ, Who in testifying before Pontius Pilate gave the exemplary profession of faith, that you keep this commandment without fault and without rebuke until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ" (vs 13-14).
Let's look at some other Scriptures here, which we need to understand. Here's what we see out there, and here's what we are up against.
2-Timothy 3:1: "Know this also, that in the last days perilous times shall come; for men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, braggarts, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, implacable, slanderers, without self-control, savage, despisers of those who are good" (vs 1-3).
That's why they hate anything about Christ, they want to destroy everything that they can about it. Now think on this in relationship to AI.
AI is going to be the amalgamation of all human thought. There will be some things of the Bible in there, but they will end up end up being perverted one way or the other. They will always go back to the so-called experts in the field, and they're the ones who have already been subverted. So, there we have it! Now notice what it is here:
Verse 4: "Betrayers, reckless, egotistical, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God."
I think of that Scripture every time I watch one of these stadiums full of people. You stop and ask: I wonder how many are thinking about God?
No! They're thinking about the god of athletics, that they're going to be watching. They're not thinking about the true God!
Verse 5: "Having an outward appearance of Godliness, but denying the power of true Godliness. But as for you, turn away from all these."
Verse 7: "They are always learning… [good description of AI] …but are never able to come to the knowledge of the Truth."
Why? Because they will never come to Christ! Now then it says down here in verse 13.
Verse 13: "But wicked men and imposters shall become worse and worse, deceiving others and being deceived themselves."
So that's quite a situation that we're facing and we see it every day today in the world around us. Let's see how this works. It's very important for us to realize all of these things and to understand how they're working.
Ephesians 2:1: "Now, you were dead… [Paul is talking to all of the Ephesians] …in trespasses and sins, in which you walked in times past according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air…" (vs 1-2)—that's Satan the devil!
Look at it today. Think about this. How much knowledge, information, and everything that goes on comes invisibly through the air. And look at how it is in people's lives:
- they think they're educated
- they think they know things
- they think that they're doing right
But they're living in sin, and they're following Satan the devil! Notice what it does.
".…the spirit that is now working within the children of disobedience" (v 2). That's what it is!
When you see all of these things, ask the question:
- How many are keeping any of the Commandments of God?
If there are some who are trying to do so,
- How much do they know?
- What are they willing to learn?
And especially when you think about all of the ministers and pastors… I had a clip sent to me. Here's a man saying, with dogmatism, 'God spoke to me and Jesus is returning in September 2025.'
- How many people will believe?
- How many people will follow?
"...the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now working within the children of disobedience; among whom also we all once had our conduct in the lusts of our flesh, doing the things willed by the flesh and by the mind, and were by nature the children of wrath, even as the rest of the world" (vs 2-3).
Then he talks about God's mercy in calling us. But there's a situation, right there.
1-Peter 1:25: "But the Word of the Lord endures forever; and this is the message that was preached to you through the Gospel."
1-Peter 2:1: "Therefore, having put away all wickedness, and all deceit, and hypocrisies and jealousies, and all slanders,."
That shows just the way that the world is; that's what goes on. You watch the news and take this one verse and ask yourself the question as you're watching the news: Do they really understand what's going on?
Now, some are trying to expose all the lies and all of the difficulties, but what generally happens to them? They're pushed aside!
Now, here's our approach that we need to have toward God:
1-Peter 1:13: "For this reason… [because of what God has for us is so great that even angels desire to look into it] … be prepared in your minds…" That's where the battle is going on:
- Do we love God?
- Do we love His Truth?
I think it's interesting that before all of this onslaught, we sent out the book: The Love of God Surpasses Human Knowledge.
This is a book that everyone needs to be getting into and studying, especially in these times with all of these difficulties that are coming on.
"…be prepared in your minds, be self-controlled, and be fully hoping in the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedient children… [unto God] …do not conform yourselves to the former lusts, as you did in your ignorance. But according as He Who has called you is Holy, you yourselves also be Holy in all your conduct; for it is written, 'You be Holy because I am Holy'" (vs 13-16).
Now, that's the whole key in us coming to the point of surviving the world the way that it is, and being able to grow in grace and knowledge and stay close to God and do the things that God wants.
So what Peter is doing is helping every one of them to keep their minds on the whole purpose of God. And that's what my letter coming out is, preparing for the Feast. That we understand:
- why God has called us
- where we're going
- what we're doing
- what we need to do
- the purpose of the Feast
- etc.
Verse 3: "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who, according to His abundant mercy, has begotten us again unto a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead; unto an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and unfading, reserved in heaven for us" (vs 3-4).
It'll be brought by Christ! That we really yield to God in changing and growing and overcoming!
Philip. 2–-this is quite a chapter. You all know it, but this tells us:
- how we fight the spiritual fight
- how we overcome
The whole goal of everything is, as we will see, is to develop the mind of Christ!
Philippians 2:1: "Now then, if there be any encouragement in Christ…"—that's what we need today:
- a lot of encouragement in Christ
- the love of God
- the Truth of God
- understanding the Word of God
".…if any comfort of love… [that's something we need, and that comes from God] … if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any deep inner affections and compassions, fulfill my joy that you be of the same mind, having the same love, being joined together in soul, minding the one thing" (vs 1-2)—seeking first the Kingdom of God, as Jesus said!
Verse 3: "Let nothing be done through contention or vainglory, but in humility, each esteeming the others above himself. Let each one look not only after his own things, but let each one also consider the things of others. Let this mind be in you…" (vs 3-5).
That mind is the mind of God, and that comes with the Spirit of God! Like we read there in 1-Peter, "begotten again."
Verse 5: "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus; Who, although He existed in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but emptied Himself, and was made in the likeness of men, and took the form of a servant; and being found in the manner of man, He humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Therefore, God has also highly exalted Him and bestowed upon Him a name, which is above every name; that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of beings in heaven and on earth and under the earth" (vs 5-10).
That's quite an amazing thing for us to understand and see what we need to do. Now, let's come back and look at a couple Proverbs, and see what we need to look at.
- IF we're going to have the mind of Christ, we need the Word of God
- IF we're going to have the mind of Christ, we need the Truth of God
Proverbs 23:7: "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he…"
That is, whatever is in your heart, that's there. That's why conversion is the important thing!
"…'Eat and drink,' he says to you, but his heart is not with you" (v 7).
Proverbs 18:2: "A fool has no delight in understanding, but only that his heart may discover itself."
That's what we see the way that people are today, especially all of these 'woke' people, and WOKE means: Wild Obsessions Kill Everything.
Verse 10: "The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe." You come to God and you do what you need to do!
Proverbs 19:16[transcriber's correction]: "He who keeps the Commandment keeps his own soul; he who is careless in his ways shall die."
Let's see one of the most important things that we need to do so that we can have the mind of Christ in us. Here's what we do:
Proverbs 4:5: "Get wisdom; get understanding; forget it not, nor turn away from the words of My mouth."
Now, you can say, as in this case wisdom, but from the words of God! From the words of Christ!
Verse 6: "Do not forsake her, and she shall keep you; love her…."
- the Word of God
- the Truth of God
"…and she shall preserve you. Wisdom is the principal thing; get wisdom; and with all your getting get understanding" (vs 6-7).
When we have that, v 10: "Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of your life shall be many." Now, we're offered eternal life, so you transfer that to New Testament doctrine!
Verse 11: "I have taught you in the way of wisdom; I have led you in the right paths. When you go, your steps shall not be hampered, and when you run, you shall not stumble. Keep hold of instruction…." (vs 11-13).
This is how we keep our bearings with all of these pressures in the world that come upon us!
Verse 13: "Keep hold of instruction; do not let go; keep her, for she is your life. Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not into the way of evil men. Avoid it; do not go in it; turn from it, and pass on!" (vs 13-15).
So a good motto is this: Everything that sounds good, according to human nature, is not good! Now then it says this. About the evil people.
Verse 16: "For they do not sleep except when they have done mischief; and their sleep is taken away unless they cause some to fall, for they eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence. But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shines more and more to the perfect day" (vs 16-18).
Now that's about as New Testament as you can get, right there!
Verse 19: "The way of the wicked is as darkness; they know not at what they stumble. My son, attend to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Let them not depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart, for they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh" (vs 19-22). Verse 23 is the key:
- to overcoming
- to understanding right from wrong
- to understanding the Word of God
Verse 23: "Above all guard the door of your mind…"–or your heart, because out of it the mouth speaks!
Verse 23: "Above all guard the door of your mind with diligence…."
That means you have to be at it all the time! And in this age we're assaulted with it!
Verse 24: "Put away from you a deceitful mouth, and devious lips put far from you. Let your eyes look right on, and let your eyelids look straight before you. Ponder the path of your feet, and all your ways will be established. Do not turn to the right hand nor to the left; remove your foot from evil" (vs 24-27).
Proverbs 18:2: "A fool has no delight in understanding..."
I was thinking about that as I was watching the news with them trying to explain an evil that will never work.
"...But only that his heart may discover itself. When the wicked comes, contempt also comes, and with dishonor comes disgrace. The words of a man's mouth are like deep waters; the fountain of wisdom is like a flowing stream (vs 2-4).
All of this shows what we need to do.
Verse 5: "It is not good to favor the person of the wicked, nor to overthrow the righteous in judgment."
Those are all part of some of the things we need to do on a continuous basis.
Proverbs 24:1: "Do not be envious of evil men, nor desire to be with them, for their heart studies destruction, and their lips talk of mischief" (vs 1-2).
I couldn't help but think of seeing that whole group of the most intelligent people in the world. All those high-tech people there at dinner with Donald Trump. Thinking they're going to combine all of their knowledge, and they're going to solve all the problems of the world, and make it a better place to live in. So, we'll see how that comes out.
Verse 1: "Do not be envious of evil men, nor desire to be with them, for their heart studies destruction, and their lips talk of mischief. Through wisdom a house is built..." (vs 1-3).
Think about that, because we are to build a spiritual house––on the Rock, and that Rock is Christ!
"...and by understanding it is established. and by knowledge the rooms shall be filled with all precious and pleasant riches. A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increases strength, for by wise counsel you shall make your war..." (vs 3-6).
Now that's quite an interesting thing there because we're to fight a good warfare. And it is a spiritual warfare. Good counsel comes from God! Comes from His Truth!
Verse 9: "The thought of foolishness is sin, and the scorner is an abomination to men. If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small" (vs 9-10).
So that's what we have to do; we have to be strong in God's way at all times!
Proverbs 5:1: "My son, attend to my wisdom; bow your ear to my understanding; that you may keep discretion, and that your lips may keep knowledge. For the lips of a wanton woman drip as a honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil; but her end is as bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword" (vs 1-4).
Verse 8[transcriber's correction]: "Remove your ways far from her, and do not come near the door of her house, lest you give your honor unto others and your years unto the cruel; lest strangers be filled with your wealth, and your labors be in the house of a stranger; and you moan when your end comes, when your flesh and your body are consumed" (vs 8-11).
And that's what's happening to an awful lot of them. Look at all the diseases. Look at all the things that are taking place. And a lot of them are the sexual sins that are building up. Here's the way that we change and grow and overcome:
Proverbs 7:1: "My son, keep My words and store up My Commandments within you."
That all gets down to 'as a man thinks in his heart, so he is; as a woman thinks in her heart, so she is.' That's why we need the Spirit of God and we need the Word of God to be able to overcome all of these spiritual battles that are out there.
Verse 2: "Keep My Commandments and live... [Jesus also said, 'I'm the Way, the Truth, and the Life; New Testament doctrine] ...and keep My Law as the apple of your eye." In other words:
- What's written in your mind and in your heart?
- What do you think on?
- What do you look forward to?
It's all right here in your mind!
Verse 3: "Bind them upon your fingers; write them upon the tablet of your heart."
That ties right in with Prov. 6 there. Guard your mind or your heart diligently!
And every time I watch all these ads on television, I always hit the mute. But I wonder about those subliminal messages are also coming that you can't hear.
Have you ever had something like this? You're going along and everything seems fine, Then all of a sudden–BAM!–some evil thought has come into your mind! I'm sure that every one of you have experience that! Where did that come from? Don't know! Satan the devil, who is the 'prince of the power of the air'!
Verse 4: "Say to wisdom, 'You are my sister..."
What does it say? Get wisdom with all your might. Get wisdom!
That's what it starts out right there in the book of Proverbs, the very first and second chapter. Apply yourself to wisdom; that's:
- the Word of God
- the love of God
"…and call understanding your kinsman, So that they may keep you from the wanton woman..." (vs 4-5).
As I watch the ads on television, I think of Eve coming to Adam and saying, 'Look at this!'
So I asked myself the question, why do they always have in advertisement the equivalent of Eve trying to sell something to you?
You might think that's a stupid statement, but whatever. That's what I think when I see all of that. Especially for women, there are more ads about medicines to take for women so that they can overcome their emotional instabilities. They need to come to God! Not that!
Verse 5: "So that they may keep you from the wanton woman, from the stranger who flatters with her words. For at the window of my house I looked through my lattice, and I saw among the simple ones, among the youths, a young man with no understanding, passing through the street near her corner. And he went the way to her house: in the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night" (vs 5-9).
Now, you can put in there today, because of all of the homosexuality and transgenderism, that thing happens with men coming after men.
Why do you suppose that God said in the book of Leviticus that 'a man shall not lay with a man as with womankind, it's an abomination and you are to execute them!'
In today's world they would say that's harsh and everybody has rights. Why? Because God knows the evil of the pervert male or female! They're always looking for new conquests and for new perverse converts. That's why!
Proverbs 8:1: "Does not wisdom call?...."
Yes, the Word of God. That's why the Word of God is living and is true! That's what Christ said: 'What I speak to you, these are the words of Truth and they are Spirit and they are Life!'
Verse 1: "Does not wisdom call? And does not understanding put forth her voice? She stands in the top of high places, by the place where the paths meet. She cries in the gates, at the entrance of the city, at the doors" (vs 1-3).
Verse 4: "'To you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of men. O you simple ones, understand wisdom; and, you fools, be of an understanding heart. Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things, for my mouth shall speak Truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips. All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing twisted or perverse in them'" (vs 4-8).
Now, think about that in relation to what I showed you here about this church that they have: lesbian preachers, transgenders running the church and all transgenderism is a form of mental insanity, every bit of it!
Articles: AI Threatens To Turn Fiction Into Reality
When asked about evolution:
AI: 'It's impossible!'
- just think about what Satan's going to do
- just think about how the world is going to come about with all of this artificial intelligence
That's what we are looking at. Who would have ever thought that it would come to this? But there it is!
Proverbs 8:33: "Hear instruction, and be wise, and do not refuse it." This is why we:
- study every day
- pray every day
Verse 34: "Blessed is the man who hears me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors, for whoever finds me finds life and shall obtain favor from the LORD. But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul; all who hate me love death" (vs 34-36).
(break@46:02)
Let's come to Psalm 94. And what we're going to do is we're going to see how we can use the Psalms:
- to guard the door of our minds
- to learn to think properly
- to learn how to expel all of these thoughts that come, which they can
This will explain AI, which is going to end up being one of the most dangerous things in the world!
Psalm 94:11: "The LORD knows the thoughts of man, that they are vanity."
This is why we need to emphasize the love of God, and know all of the Scriptures! That's why we have the book out there now.
Psalm 92:1: "It is good to give thanks to the LORD and to sing praises unto Your name, O Most High, to show forth Your loving kindness in the morning and Your faithfulness every night" (vs 1-2)—because God is the One Who does all of these things!
Psalm 95:1: "O come, let us sing to the LORD; let us make a joyful noise to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise to Him with psalms, for the LORD is a great God and a great King above all gods" (vs 1-3). There it is right there. Clear and powerful!
Psa. 119 is quite a Psalm. Have you ever studied it all the way through? I remember when I was first studying through Psa. 119, I thought I would do this: I had marking pens. I had blue, red, yellow and green.
I thought I would take all the verses with Commandments; I would use one color. All the verses with statutes, I would use another color. By the time I got done doing that, I had a nice beautiful colored page.
But this is one of the greatest things to help everyone, to help you personally:
- in coming to know the way of God
- stay close to Him
- how we need to think of things
Because when troubles come, we tend to turn inward and think, 'Oh, woe is me.'
That's the time that you look to God and look to His words to help you overcome! So. let's start out right here in:
Psalm 119:1: "Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the Law of the LORD."
Now, you can put in there, New Testament: spiritually keeping the Law of God!
- to love God with all your heart, with all your mind, with all your soul, with all your being
- to love your neighbor as yourself
- to love the brethren
That's the way to overcome!
Verse 2: "Blessed are they who keep His testimonies and who seek Him with the whole heart."
This is what God wants: wholeheartedness! You can't have your mind split between God and the world; it won't work. Wholehearted is a good way of diligently keeping the door of your mind or heart!
Verse 3: "They also do no iniquity..." That shows you how you overcome!
So you, if you have a sin that you need to overcome, you can get rid of it! You pray about it, and you ask God to take it from you. You ask God—through His words and through what is here—so that you can have the mind of Christ with the Spirit of God, so:
- you can overcome
- you can win the battle within
- you can win the battle without
Verse 3: "They also do no iniquity; they walk in His ways. You have commanded us to keep Your precepts diligently. O that my ways were directed to keep Your statutes!" (vs 3-5).
Now notice how he pleads through all of these things here, these psalms that we're going to cover.
Verse 7: "I will praise You with uprightness of heart when I have learned Your righteous judgments." Everything comes from God!
Verse 8: "I will keep Your statutes; O forsake me not utterly."
This is, if you have a trial, God is there to help you. He will help you to learn what you need to learn from this trial. Sometimes, you have things come upon you that you wonder:
- How did this ever come upon me?
- What am I going to do?
- you take it to God
- you pray about it
- you study His Word
Let's see how that is done:
Verse 9: "With what shall a young man cleanse his way?...." The same way with a young woman, old man, old woman.
".…By taking heed according to Your Word." Think about that!
Now notice our approach to God, which:
- will help us overcome an awful lot of sin
- will help us overcome the temptations of Satan the devil
- will help us overcome the pulls of the flesh
Verse 10: "With all my heart I have sought You.…" That's quite a statement!
- How many people do that today? Well, I'm sure there are a lot of people in the Church of God doing that!
- But in the world? No one!
"...O let me not wander from Your Commandments" (v 10).
Tie that in that we covered in Prov. 4 about diligently guarding the door of your mind! Today we need that more than anything else.
I went in the bank, and they've got to have these big screens up there flashing on and off. Then they have this crazy music. Do you ever ask why do they have music playing everywhere you go? Because that's Satan's way of controlling people's minds! Most music today isn't music at all.
Verse 11: "Your Word I have laid up in my heart, so that I might not sin against You." Isn't that quite a statement right there? Yes!
Verse 12: "Blessed are You, O LORD; teach me Your statutes. With my lips I have declared all the judgments of Your mouth. I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies as much as in all riches" (vs 12-14).
Notice the whole attitude there, and always remember this. Keep this in everything that you do. God has promised us the greatest inheritance possible!
That's what I focus on in the letter that you're going to get about the Feast. It's the September/October letter. IF we come to the Feast having our mind:
- focused on what God wants
- focused on the inheritance that the Feast of Tabernacles pictures
Verse 15: "I will meditate upon Your precepts and have respect to Your ways." That's how you develop the mind of Christ!
- Do you suppose that this whole 119th Psalm is a prophecy of how Jesus was thinking when He was in the flesh?
- His mind and heart and attitude toward God?
- His mind and attitude toward what He was to do?
Verse 15: "I will meditate upon Your precepts and have respect to Your ways. I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your Word" (vs 15-16).
Notice what David says here the next couple verses, because this is what is so great.
- the Word of God is living
- the Word of God is true
- the Word of God is to give us the spiritual understanding that we need
There are things that as we study God will open our mind to grasp.
Verse 17: "Deal bountifully with Your servant, that I may live and keep Your Word. Open my eyes..." (vs 17-18). I love this verse!
- think about this in relationship to the whole Bible
- think about this in relationship to the things that you have learned
Verse 18: "Open my eyes so that I may behold wondrous things out of Your Law."
1-Cor. 2–-let's see quite an amazing thing! Think about what Paul brings out here. This is why the Word of God is so tremendous. You can learn, you can learn, you can learn!
- precept upon precept, and line upon line
- here a little, there a little
Put it all together!
Here's what Paul wrote to the Corinthians. And think about this as we go through this, especially when we get toward the end of this chapter. Paul came to those in Corinth, and of course, these were the ones who were the philosophers. They had all of the gods and all of the things that they had. They were called out of that society!
Paul didn't want to have anything to do with comparing what they knew and thought of as gods. So here's what he said:
1-Corinthians 2:2: "For I decided not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. And I was in weakness and in fear and in much trembling when I was with you; and my message and my preaching was not in persuasive words of humanwisdom.…" (vs 2-4).
As a matter of fact, they said that Paul wasn't a good speaker.
"...rather, it was in demonstration of the Spirit and of power; so that your faith..." (vs 4-5).
This is what it needs to be with us. Now, you look back and see all the troubles that people have in the Church, and that the Church had when they had all the upheavals. Here it is, right here!
Verse 4: "And my message and my preaching was not in persuasive words of humanwisdom."
That is where everyone gets off the track. Look how far off the Protestants have gotten; the Catholics never came close. Someone asked me, 'Why don't you talk about the Mormons. Well the Mormons have Joseph Smith and Brigham Young; and there's the Jehovah Witnesses: human wisdom, trying to add to the Word of God! Never work!
"...it is not the wisdom of this world, nor of the rulers of this world, who are coming to nothing. Rather, we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom that God foreordained before the ages unto our glory" (vs 6-7).
Now stop and think about this for a minute:
- the fact you have the Holy Spirit of God
- the fact that you understand the Word of God
- the fact that you have been living God's ways
All of this was established before the redoing of the earth and the creating of Adam and Eve! That's an amazing thing!
"...before the ages unto our glory, which not one of the rulers of this world has known (for if they had known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory); but according as it is written, 'The eye has not seen...'" (vs 7-9). Think about that in relationship to understanding:
- the Word of God
- the Truth of God
- the Love of God
- the Faith of God
- the Wisdom of God
All of that comes from God, because in God we live and move and have our being! God is all things to everything! We are part of an Eternal Plan that goes back before the ages of time!
Verse 9: "But according as it is written, 'The eye has not seen, nor the ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.'"
That's the key thing. You're not going to hear that from AI. I mean you may have a little dissertation come from AI. which sounds pretty good. But this is from God!
"…prepared for those who love Him." As Jesus said, 'IF you love Me keep the Commandments.'
Verse 10: "But God has revealed them to us by His Spirit..."
Now think about that for a minute. We have the book: Why Were You Born? One of the best books that we have produced. It tells the whole story where you came from! From a speck of dust that was so small it couldn't be seen.
- God created you
- fashioned you
- brought you into the world
- made you who you are
- you can see
- you can hear
- you can think
All of these things, and with the Spirit of God you can have connection with God and love God!
When you love God and understand the love that He has for you, and the love that He has for the world, that's an amazing thing, indeed! How many people today have a clue? Very few!
Think about what you understand with the Word of God. When you think with the Word of God, and live your life led by the Spirit of God:
- to keep the Laws of God
- to serve Him
- to love God
Think about this:
Verse 10: "But God has revealed them to us by His Spirit…"
The very fact that we will be raised from the dead–-or if we're still living, transformed from flesh to spirit–-to be the sons and daughters of God the Father. That is an amazing thing, which will help keep you focused in on what you need to do!
Verse 10: "But God has revealed them to us by His Spirit, for the Spirit searches all things—eventhe deep things of God. 11: For who among men understands the things of man except by the spirit of man, which is in him? In the same way also, the things of God no one understands except by the Spirit of God" (vs 10-11).
Now think about that! The Creator God, the Father. the Great Sovereign of the Universe:
- has called us
- has given us of His Spirit
- has provided us with His Truth
- has saved us from the wretchedness of this world
- has brought us unto Himself through Jesus Christ
So that we can have eternal life! That's an amazing thing to really understand and grasp! That's the whole purpose of why we have a warfare:
- in overcoming the world
- in overcoming Satan
- in overcoming our own human nature
Because this is so great that Satan wants to destroy it! That's the battle we're in right now. But God has revealed it!
Verse 12: "Now, we have not received the spirit of the world..."
Ephesians 2:1: "Now, you were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you walked in times past according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now working within the children of disobedience" (vs 1-2).
That's what it's talking about back here in 1-Corinthians 2:12: "Now, we have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit that is of God….."
An amazing thing from God the Father Himself. Let's see what Peter writes about this. This is absolutely amazing when you think about it. When you compare it with what's going on in the world.
How—when you understand the Word of God—with God's Spirit He opens your eyes to see these things.
1-Peter 1:1: "Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the elect strangers scattered in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia; who have been chosen.…" (vs 1-2). Now think about that!
"…according to the predetermined knowledge of God the Father.…"
- that's why we're here
- that's why we have a battle with the world
- that why we have a battle with overcoming sin
"…by sanctification.…[to be made Holy] .… through the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied to you. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who, according to His abundant mercy, has begotten us again…." (vs 2-3).
That's the real key thing, the receiving of the Spirit of God. This is why we need to grow in grace and knowledge and understanding; this is why we're here!
I don't know how this age that we are living in can be compared to anything before this. That we have so many things that are out there that Satan the devil has his hand in, to try and destroy the true followers of Christ.
".…unto a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead; unto an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and unfading, reserved in heaven for us" (vs 3-4). This gives us:
- the hope
- the strength
- the understanding
You can take what is said here, and what you might do, you might study all the way through Psa. 119, and there are 176 verses so that will keep you busy for a while. Then let God's love and God's Spirit:
- give you understanding
- inspire you in it
- help you in it
- help you to grow in
- grace and knowledge
- love
- Truth
That's why we're here!
So let's keep all these things in mind. We know the Feast is coming soon, and we're thankful for it. It's quite an amazing thing that what the Feast of Tabernacles pictures. That we will have an integral part in bringing what the world wants, but can never find! That is:
- peace
- love
- truth
- understanding
So this is how we can overcome
- the world
- Satan
- our own sins and faults
That's all through the blood and sacrifice of Jesus Christ, and the calling of God the Father!
