As you watch these specials for seeds, What’s in a Seed, as I was watching, I was thinking, because if you just have a clear package of seeds, you don’t know what it is. You plant it in the ground and it grows, then you’ll see what it is.

What does it do? It has a temporary life. It grows and then it blossoms. In the case you like tomatoes, and you’ve got big tomato plants out there—Dolores loves tomatoes and so we always plant some. We get these ‘Heirloom’ tomatoes, the big ones, to where you can take and make a thick slice and then take two slices of bread and put your Miracle Whip on both slices and you just have that one tomato slice in there. It is so good.

I was watching one of these specials on redwood and sequoia trees. They only grow in a certain place in California and in Nevada. The sequoia trees are amazing. They have some trees that they estimate there to be pretty close to 2,000 years old.

I was thinking, when I was visiting with Ron and Aaron Cary and we were going over the website. They are our webmasters for CBCG.org and take care of everything and post it all up so everyone can have everything to use, read and listen to.

His son specializes in rare seeds and has gotten some rare wheat and rye and barley; and he specializes in chickens. Recently he sent off to Iceland for a couple of fertilized eggs. They pack them up nice and easy, ready to go and they ship them 2-day air. He put the eggs under the incubator. He got them because the Iceland chickens have kind of a down under their feathers, which keeps them warm. If you’re a chicken in Iceland, you’ve got to stay warm.

He noticed that these chickens that come from different parts of the world—he’s going to try and get some Siberian chickens. I’m going to ask him, ‘Can you please get them without the leg chains on them.’ Got to get out of the captive camp. (joke) He said that they have instincts of doing things that other chickens don’t that are the result of the factory chickens in America. Then he showed me one thing that was really astonishing. We’ll come back to that a little later.

He showed me this wheat that he had. So he brought in four stocks of wheat that were from one root system. The wheat kernels were about 6 inches long at the top. We’ll find this interesting a little later when we get to Matt. 13. He says these have 60 or more seeds per stock, and these four stocks came from one seed. Remember what Jesus said to bring forth? Here’s 240-fold. Isn’t that amazing?

What is in a seed? Gen. 1 is where it all started. It shows that God is Creator and Designer. God has given perpetuation of their own kind and life within their own seeds, be it plants, other creatures such as birds, crawling things, mammals and human beings. Let’s talk about how God said here, ‘Everyone after its own kind.’ That’s a key and important thing.

Sidebar: What is the problem with seeds that we have today? Genetic modification! (GMO) I was told about the wheat in the Midwest. Years ago they had the wheat which would be in the fields and it would wave back and forth. Now they only grow about 16 inches tall and they have big, juicy grains on them full of gluten.

Let’s look at something that’s a principle here. God made it the way He made it and there can be some crossbreeding of different things to come up with different variations, which is fine as long as it’s done properly. These GMO foods today don’t do that. They’re just thick sticks of stalks so they can come in with the machinery and cut it down and harvest.

What happens with genetically modified foods? And then add into that microwaves and other things that they do. Is it food? Spiritually we can draw a comparison!

  • God has given the real thing
  • God has made it
  • God has put into the seed everything it needs to be to reproduce and to bring forth to serve mankind and everything else He has created

He’s given all plant life for all species and animals and so forth, whether they are carnivorous or whether they’re vegetarians, herbivores or omnivores for food. He made our system so it can digest and take out all of the components that are in there. Until recently we didn’t know what made what, except it was good food.

We can draw an analogy with that. Here God made the perfect plant, or we can say for human beings with Adam and Eve, the perfect human beings in the flesh. Here comes along Satan the devil and his program is: ‘Let’s GMO what God has made.’ Just think on that!

Let’s begin with men, Genesis 1:24: “And God said, ‘Let the earth bring forth living creatures after their kind—livestock, creeping things, and beasts of the earth—each after its kind.’ And it was so. And God made the beasts of the earth after their kind, and the livestock after their kind, and every creeping thing upon the earth after their kind. And God saw that it was good” (vs 24-25).

God made all of these with laws to function: laws of reproduction, etc. As I mentioned, there can be certain legitimate hybridization and crossbreeding to effect food and animals as long as they leave the seed in it and it can reproduce itself.

He said concerning man, v 26: “And God said, ‘Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of heaven and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that crawls upon the earth.’ And God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him. He created them male and female” (vs 26-27).

Man needs a woman; woman needs a man. For same-sex marriage, how are you going to reproduce? Satan has GMO that he’s going to do! What they’re trying to do is steal the stem cells so they can make artificial human beings. There you have one sin leads to another sin.

Verse 28: “And God blessed them. And God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea…’” God is not chincy. God is not a miser. He gave mankind the whole earth. How’s that? What is the best present that you ever received in your life? That is the life that came from God!

After creating Eve, God married them, put them in the Garden of Eden and told them what to do. But they didn’t want to do it. Man has a perversity. They were the most perfect in the flesh. But even if you’re perfect in the flesh, you are deficient before God!

Satan comes along and you know what he said. He said: ‘If you eat of this tree, which God told you not to eat of, you know He’s really hiding something from you. God doesn’t want you to have any fun on your own. He’s trying to keep you from knowledge. But if you eat of this fruit, you’ll become like God to decide good and evil.’

What was the result of the seed—symbolically—of eating it? Sin! Sin was passed into all human beings because of that. However, that didn’t stop God. God created in mankind the power to reproduce through male and female.

So, the best way to check out your humility is this, we’ve done this before: Take a pen, put it on a piece of paper and make a dot. That’s how big you were when you were conceived. Everything that you would become is in that little speck. God provided the means of developing and bringing to birth.

Once you’re brought to birth, then you have a whole new existence living and breathing air, eating food, growing and so forth. The whole story of life in the womb is another one. Here we all are. We’ve all gone through that. He put within us the reproductive process to produce our own family, our own children. Furthermore, so gracious was God in that that we could make children after our kind, after our likeness, as a blessing from God.

Let’s carry this forward and ask again: What’s in a seed? I didn’t finish that with the redwood and sequoia, but I had Ron Cary order for me four packages of sequoia seed. I know I can look on the package and see what it will be, but if I put it down on the table and just think about what is in that seed? Just like, what was in that speck when you were conceived. Everything you need to be what God created there!

So marvelous is that, that no two human beings, even identical twins, are the same. You bring that all back to Adam and Eve and ask: Where do the genes and chromosomes come from? God made them:

  • for all plants
  • all life
  • all animals
  • for all human beings

Since God is not making robots, there are no two human beings the same.

Now let’s begin to talk about the spiritual seed, because this is where we want to come. Because of the sin of Adam and Eve, the knowledge of God’s plan for mankind was deferred. Right after their sin, the prophecy of the coming Messiah was given to them. They didn’t have much knowledge about what God’s plan was, because part of the penalty was the knowledge of that, instead of being given to them right there in the Garden of Eden, would be revealed a bit-by-bit as God in His wisdom and plan decided to reveal it.

The first revelation that gives us some understanding when we come to this, and look at it with some of the other Scriptures, is in Gen. 15 when God gave the promise to Abraham. Let’s look at it this way: As newly conceived in the womb and growing, up to the time of birth, about the only thing that a child born knows how to do is nurse and cry and have the bodily facilities work.

That baby had no clue where it came from, had no knowledge because it hadn’t learned anything, yet. It has to fed, start out properly with mother’s milk, and that’s a blessing. That helps nourish the child and the child grows. Children all of a sudden then bloom, the teeth pop out and they get bigger and bigger; the parents get older and older; the children get older and bigger. After a while then our own children are bigger than we are and they look down on us, ‘Hi, Dad.’

Then, lo and behold, they get married and so forth, and that’s how the human race got down to this point. But human beings, not knowing why God created them, didn’t understand why they were made the way that they were. Didn’t understand why they were made in the image of God, even if they believed that. That’s a pretty special thing!

Why did God make all of the chimpanzees and apes nearly like us? The evolutionists think, ‘Oh well, yeah, look, we came from them’ That’s to prove that there is nothing really that can be substituted for God’s creation of human beings. Some people spend years testing the intelligence of apes. God put a certain intelligence in them. They can respond and do certain things.

Here’s what God promised Abraham, and even in this, this was a start. He didn’t know what it was going to be like. He didn’t know how long this would go, but God gave him the beginning point and the ending point. By the way, this happened on the Passover night, when you understand it. What is the Passover? That’s the covenant for eternal life!

What we’re finding is that the Word of God is also like a seed.

  • What’s in a seed?
  • How does the Word of God come together?
  • How much does it tell us?

This can be expanded tremendously.

At 75-years-old Abraham had no children and he thought, ‘My servant here, he could be my son.’ God said, ‘No, won’t be.’

Genesis 15:4: “This man shall not be your heir; but he that shall come forth out of your own loins shall be your heir.” The reason God waited so long and so old, and after this promise it was 25 years until Isaac was born.

Verse 5, Isaac was the start: “And He brought him outside and said, ‘Look now toward the heavens and number the stars—if you are able to count them.’ And He said to him, ‘So shall your seed be.’” What is in a seed?

God gave the promise again. So great was the promise that it expanded beyond Abraham’s family into Isaac and Jacob and the twelve tribes. Then it expands beyond that to all human beings, once we come to the New Testament.

Notice how this is just a little different here after Abraham passed the test of the willingness to offer his son as a burnt offering. We find in the book of Hebrews that Abraham was willing to do that because he knew that God could bring Isaac back to life. Just as he was ready to take the knife and slit Isaac’s throat:

Genesis 22:11: “And the angel of the LORD called to him from the heavens and said, ‘Abraham! Abraham!’ And he said, ‘Here I am.’” I guess so. Remember, God said that was ‘your only son whom you love.’

Verse 12: “And He said, ‘Do not lay your hand upon the lad, nor do anything to him, for now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.’…. [that excluded Ishmael] …And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked. And, behold, behind him a ram was entangled in a thicket by its horns. And Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up for a burnt offering instead of his son. And Abraham called the name of that place The LORD Will Provide…” (vs 12-14).

Let’s understand something: If God says something once, it is true and will happen. When He swears by Himself, you can have no greater guarantee that it will take place than that.

He called out to him a second time, v 16: “And said, ‘By Myself have I sworn,’ says the LORD, ‘because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son; that in blessing I will bless you, in multiplying I will multiply your seed like the stars of the heavens…’” (vs 16-17).

Notice the reverse. First it was physical seed, then the stars of the heaven represent the spiritual seed, the ultimate result of physical seed. Now here He starts out guaranteeing the spiritual seed. What’s in a seed?

“‘…and as the sand, which is upon the seashore….’” (v 17)—the physical children. When you count all the generations all the way down through history it’s an innumerable amount. Then we know what happened with the rest of that.

Gal. 3 is important, especially living in the divided world that we live in today. There are so many different things going on, so many movements, so many people, so many causes. Let’s understand how God looks at us when we’re called into the Church of God. We’ll talk about the Holy Spirit, which is the seed from God! What is in the seed?

Galatians 3:26: “Because you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.” An unfortunate translate and understanding by the Protestants is that we will be adopted. That is not true! It is called ‘sonship’ (Rom. 8)—the sonship of God! That’s pretty heavy stuff.

Verse 27: “For as many of you as were baptized into Christ did put on Christ.” That is, the dressings of Christ and the mind of Christ.

These next verses are very important in the Church to understand; v 28: “There is neither Jew nor Greek; there is neither bond nor free; there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus…. [for the opportunity for salvation] …And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise” (vs 28-29)—that we just read, guaranteed by God Himself, sworn on His own existence! That’s how sure we can anchor our faith to.

Sidebar: We need to understand, because at the elder’s conference we covered a great deal of this. When you come to the Church of God, and when you are converted—by baptism and receiving of the Holy Spirit of God—what are you?

  • Jew?
  • Greek?
  • Chinese?
  • Japanese?
  • Indian?
  • African?
  • What are you?

In the flesh, that’s what you are!

But with the Spirit of God, and our being together as brothers and sisters in Christ, we need to learn a very important lesson; I’ll explain it to you this way: My experience has been whenever a Jew comes to our congregation—we’ve had through the years a couple of Jews come—and they always come up to me sometime either before or after services and they say, ‘I’m a Jew.’ I’ve never answered back in a nasty fashion, but I’m almost tempted to say now, ‘Why did you say that? You think you have something special over other people?’

Or, someone comes in a says, ‘I’m Latino.’ Or, come in and I’ve had blacks tell me, ‘I’m black.’ Well, that’s obvious! I don’t know how many blacks have had white people come up to them and say, ‘I’m white.’

The reason I bring this up is because, please, in the Churches of God, do not bring in ethnic and racial politics into the Church! There have been some who are disappointed in me that I tell the truth about our ‘illustrious President.’ I’m mean and nasty because I’m a racist. That’s political behavior that has no bearing with the Church.

A Jew has no advantage! A Greek has no advantage! No ethnic has any advantage! The advantage is conversion and the future sonship! Whatever we receive from the seed of our parents is going to be totally overwritten of being inconsequential when we are raised from the dead.

Did you know that you have right before you one giant seed? Ever think of it that way? Very interesting! You know the parable in Matt. 13. We’re going to learn a few extra things out of this that we didn’t connect before. Even the disciples didn’t understand it.

Matthew 13:10: “And His disciples came to Him and asked, ‘Why do You speak to them in parables?’”

I want you to listen carefully why you are not to bring in politics of the world. Listen! All of the politics in the world, beginning with the religious leaders, with the pope, all of the Protestant leaders, all the religious leaders of the world, all of the banks, all of the businessmen, everybody everywhere are spiritually blinded! When they get so corrupt there’s nothing you can do, when lawlessness abounds. So let’s not bring that in. Remember this every important spiritual lesson: You cannot solve spiritual problems by political or physical means!

  • Are not all our problems spiritual?
  • Are not all of them the result of breaking the laws of God?

—regardless of who and what you are as a physical being.

In some of the political things that they bring out, they bring out some Truth. But that won’t solve it, because mankind cannot solve his own problems, and mankind cannot understand how to live his or her life without the Spirit of God! They may come close, but all of the Protestant religion is GMO religion, because they have had it genetically modified with their ideas.

Think about that we have the whole Bible; we have the whole Word of God. How much responsibility does that lay upon us today, in this age and in this time. A great deal of responsibility, because Jesus said, ‘To whom much is given, much is expected.’ Lots of times, people look at that and say, ‘Yeah, that applies to the minister.’ NO! It applies to all of us, applies to every one of us.

Notice this blessing, a gift from God, v 11: “And He answered and said to them, ‘Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven…’” To know the plan of God!

Sidebar: How many have watched Watters World on Bill O’Reilly. Fox News contains about between 50-80% truth of what’s going on. If you don’t watch it, you don’t have a clue! If you watch only ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, PBS, etc, they’re all in the grips of Satan the devil ‘lock, stock and barrel.’ Unless there is some spiritual repentance by a lot of people, ‘Hilary and Bilary’ will occupy the White House again. If you think it’s bad now, wait! Those who are in the Church cannot rise up and go out and vote and change a thing. You may be able to vote for lower taxes and help that, but that’s about all you can do.

You have the blessing of knowing the Kingdom of God and what’s going to happen and we are also told to watch. Some idiot in The Journal said, ‘It doesn’t mean to watch when it says watch.’ A little GMO to the Word of God—right?

“…but to them it has not been given” (v 11). They are the blind leading the blind; they’re going to fall in the ditch!

Verse 12: “For whoever has understanding, to him more shall be given, and he shall have an abundance…”

  • Is that true?
  • Do we have an abundance?
  • What should we do?

Do like the farmer who had a great crop and said, ‘Look at what I got. I’ve got to build me barns and stack it all up here. Say to my soul to sit back, kick back, relax.’ What did God say? ‘Tonight you’re going to lose your life.’ We’ve got a lot given to us. To whom much is given, much is expected.

Sidebar: Think about the next time you tell yourself, ‘I’ll do this, won’t do that, won’t do the other thing.’ Remember what Jesus said. ‘Let your yes be yes and your no be no. Just between you and your brain and your inner talking, how many times have you talked yourself out of a no or a yes, after you have said yes or after you have said no, especially when the dessert looks so good. Isn’t that true? Today was one of those days.

Verse 12: “For whoever has understanding, to him more shall be given… [How? If he/she applies the self!] …and he shall have an abundance; but whoever does not have understanding, even what he has shall be taken away from him.’” That’s what’s happening in the world.

If you ever watch Watters World on Bill O’Reilly’s Factor, he goes out and none of the ‘millennials’ know anything. They know nothing. They are ignorant, raised on GMO Gerber’s intellectual food from Satan the devil to make your mind worthless and to a tool and the palm of Satan’s hand. That’s where the young people are today. That extends up to 30-40 today.

Verse 13: “For this reason I speak to them in parables, because seeing they see not; and hearing, they hear not; neither do they understand. And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, which says, ‘In hearing you shall hear, and in no way understand; and in seeing you shall see, and in no way perceive’” (vs 13-14). That’s what we have.

  • How many billions of Bibles out there?
  • How many people have Bibles?
  • How many think that Sunday is the Sabbath?
  • How many think that all the holidays of the world are of God?

All genetically modified; all avoiding the Word of God, twisting and turning the Word of God.

Notice God’s judgment upon them, v 15: “For the heart of this people has grown fat, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and should hear with their ears, and should understand with their hearts, and should be converted, and I should heal them.”

Jesus is saying, ‘I either want you converted or non-converted.’ If you don’t believe that, read about the Laodiceans.

This also tells you something very important beyond that: How special is your calling? How many Churches of God have been genetically modified—GMO Gospel, GMO ministry, GMO followers—sad case.

I don’t know how many people have told me, ‘I’ve listened to you for three or four years and I learned more than 30 years in WCG, or whatever it was.’ I don’t take that as any compliment to me at all. I take that as a disastrous thing for the Churches of God that they didn’t do it all along. That’s why I pray for them everyday. I don’t get into Church wars with them. They need to quit fighting each other. We’ve got all eternity and eternal life ahead of us; sonship of God ahead of us. There are two very important seeds that we have:

  1. the Word of God
  2. the begettal by God the Father

—to develop as the sons of God and develop the mind of Christ. How important is that? What is in a seed?

Verse 16: “But blessed are your eyes, because they see; and your ears, because they hear. For truly I say to you, many prophets and righteous men have desired to see what you see, and have not seen; and to hear what you hear, and have not heard” (vs 16-17).

Multiply that how many times over to this day. Look at what God has given to us. Look at the understanding that we find in the Word of God, because:

  • we ask God for understanding
  • we ask God to guide us
  • we teach every one of the brethren to look to God the Father
  • you have direct access to Him
  • you are His future children

That’s a tremendous thing to understand!

It doesn’t matter if you’re young or old, male or female. It doesn’t matter your ethnic background. It doesn’t matter how tall you are, short you are, how skinny you are, how fat you are. Well, for us fat people, it may be a little different.

It matters: Do you love God? That is the nourishment with God’s Spirit that will make you grow to produce what God wants within you! Just like putting the good seed in the good ground.

(go to the next track)

I found out today that I’m a dog trainer and didn’t know it. I forget who it was that told me, but they said when they’re listening to one of the sermons—I don’t know if it’s audio or DVD, either one, I don’t remember—but the dog comes right in and lays down and listens. Then when I say it’s time to take a break, the dog gets up and runs to the refrigerator and then comes back and listens to the rest of the sermon. Wonder what he would do if we sung hymns.

Then Jesus explains the parable of the sower, Matthew 13:19: “When anyone hears the Word of the kingdom and does not understand it… [the Word is the seed from God] …the wicked one comes and snatches away that which was sown in his heart. This is the one who was sown by the way. Now the one who was sown upon the rocky places is the one who hears the Word and immediately receives it with joy; But because he has no root in himself, he does not endure; for when tribulation or persecution arises because of the Word, he is quickly offended” (vs 19-21).

That’s happened to a lot of people. ‘You mean I’ve got to keep the Sabbath? Oh, you mean I’ve got to give up my pork? I own a hog ranch, what am I going to do?’ Get rid of the stench.

Verse 22: “And the one who was sown among the thorns is the one who hears the Word, but the care of this life and the deceitfulness of riches choke the Word, and it becomes unfruitful.”

The cares of life and the world and all the money and everything like that. ‘You mean I’ve got to tithe and give offerings? I’ve got to take care of my stocks and bonds.’ Remember a little lesson concerning tithing: If you tithe, you will be blessed; all blessings are not physical. If you don’t tithe and rob God, you’re going to spend the tithe on all the penalties you bring upon yourself because you’re not blessed. Just remember that.

Verse 23: “But the one who was sown on good ground, this is the one who hears the Word and understands, who indeed brings forth fruit and produces—one a hundredfold, another sixtyfold and another thirtyfold.”

I thought when Erin Cary was telling me about their 60 kernels on each stem, couldn’t help but remember this right here. What’s in a seed?

You take all of those seeds from those four stocks, 240 seeds, and you plant those and they bring forth 240%. You take all of those and plant those, and those bring 240%. Look at what multiplies! Now this is what God wants it to be with His knowledge. This is why we study every day. This is why we pray every day, because we’re bringing forth the crop. Then He gives another parable about it, but it is this:

  • the Sower is Christ
  • the Seed is the Word

What is in a seed?

When you put the Word of God in your mind by study and with the Spirit of God to help you understand it, what are we to do? Grow in grace and knowledge! Never come to a point where we say that we know everything. Just like you could say, ‘I know what’s in this seed,’ and you don’t. You have to let the Word of God dwell in you richly and use it and think with it. A miracle takes place in your mind that is not affected by any of the physical things you go through, which is this: It’s written in your mind and in your heart!

What greater thing can be done than that? There is a greater thing that can be done with that, because that will produce the spiritual fruit. That’s how important it is. Always remember that GMO Scriptural experts are out there trying to splice it and re-splice it. The final crop they’re going to come up with is the one-world religion. God’s going to have a surprise for them!

What is in a seed? What is in the Word of God? Line upon line; precept upon precept; here a little, there a little! You put it together just like you take the kernels of wheat and you grind it into flour and you can make it into all kinds of things.

If you take the GMO flour and you have that, then you have all of the gluten. Then you add into it all of the other things that shouldn’t be there. They’ve GMO’d everything that there is. You mix that together and what do we have? We have so much sickness around that they could have ObamaCare five times over and it wouldn’t take care of it, because it’s all against God.

Likewise with the Word of God and understanding the Word of God. You can’t go over here to the Protestants and see how they do it because they are partially blind. The Catholics are totally blind. They’ll admit they don’t need the Bible.

The Spiritual Seed

We’re going to look at the second seed that’s the most important. What is in a seed? To give you an idea, remember the speck that you were when you were conceived and look what you are now. If you’re older, you can look back and see what you have been.

This year we celebrated 50 years of marriage and it’s kind of a flash. Hello, where did the time go? When we got married, we thought 50 years of being married, that’s a long time. I just talked to someone today and they’ve been married 67 years. I bet you don’t know where it went. If you look at some of the pictures when you were young and all this sort of stuff, you would say, ‘That’s me?’ As we’re getting older, we look in the mirror and we say, ‘Is that me?’

Remember, Paul said that ‘the resurrection is like a seed that is planted.’ It must die first. So, don’t worry. This body, the seed of our body, is going to die. But what is God going to do in the reproduction at the resurrection? I think that the knowledge that we have today is going to be compared to just like a newborn baby who knows virtually nothing, when we’re resurrected as spirit beings from the physical.

1-John 3:6: “Everyone who dwells in Him does not practice sin…” That’s the correct translation. The King James says ‘cannot sin.’ That is a stupid translation. The translators are so ignorant that they forgot what they translated in 1-John 1: That if we sin, John included, confess our sins, He will forgive us our sins through the blood of His Son Jesus Christ Who cleanses us from all sin! To translate that ‘cannot sin’ is absolutely the worst GMO translation of the Word of God you could have that leads many people into sin.

“…does not practice sin; anyone who practices sin has not seen Him, nor has known Him. Little children, do not allow anyone to deceive you; the one who practices righteousness is righteous, even as He is righteous…. [because we have the righteousness of Christ] …The one who practices sin is of the devil…” (vs 6-8). He’s got all of his GMO of everything that you could imagine to pervert and change everything of God, everything in physical life, etc.

“…because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God appeared that He might destroy the works of the devil…. [the second seed that is growing within us to produce the qualities necessary for eternal life]: …Everyone who has been begotten by God does not practice sin because His seed… [‘sperma’] …of begettal is dwelling within him… [What is in the seed? All the spiritual things we need combined with the Word of God!] …and he is not able to practice sin because he has been begotten by God” (vs 8-9).

Why? Because when you sin, God is going to reveal it to you and you will have a guilty conscience and you will repent! {note sermon: How to Overcome Difficult Sins} Too many people in the Church of God are focused on the actions of what you shall and shall not do. That should come automatic. They need to be focused on growing the spiritual seed of begettal. God not only judges the actions and what you practice and do, but He judges the secrets of the heart!

How did God judge the world before the Flood? The earth was corrupt and filled with violence and the imagination of the heart of man was only evil continually! He judged them because of their thoughts. Those thoughts brought about actions of sin. Likewise with us! God judges our hearts. This is why we are to love God with all our heart, mind, soul and being, because God has given us the greatest gift possible and the greatest potential that will ever be: to be a son or daughter of God, to be a spirit being! We’ve been made in His likeness and after His image and the fulfillment of the covenant with Jesus Christ is to be made after His kind: The sonship of God! That is fantastic. That is awesome.

To think that that the Great God, the Father, the Sovereign of the whole universe, would reach down and give us of His Spirit, would beget us with His ‘sperma,’ His seed, so we can become His children. Isn’t that an amazing thing? Think about it, brethren, how we need to be inspired to respond to God. How great and marvelous that this is.

Just like it’s so marvelous that when we understand when we were begotten in our mother’s womb we were just a little speck of dust. Compare that what it is going to be like. We have received the earnest of the payment of God, the Holy Spirit of God, so that we can become His very children. It’s going to be an existence unbelievable from our perspective. We can get a little glimpse of it from the Scriptures.

The next time you get depressed, the next time you think you have troubles, the next time you think that everything is going wrong—and it may be really are going wrong—ask God for help and think on this:

1-John 3:1: “Behold! What glorious love the Father has given to us…” Not to the world, to us! His seed is pure! His seed of the Word is pure! Those combined together with our efforts, He wants us involved actively, by choice; loving Him back as He loves us. That’s why the greatest correction that is going to take place in your life is through God the Father and Jesus Christ inspiring you with Their Spirit within

  • that you desire to change
  • that you desire to overcome
  • that you desire to love Him

A preacher can stand up here and beat you over the head with every sin that you have and you know it. Then you go home so depressed you don’t even need to open the door to leave the Church, you just slide under the doorjamb. You ever had one of those sermons? How inspired did you feel? You barely recovered to the next Sabbath for round two!

He’s given it to us—the gift of eternal life. “…For this very reason, the world does not know us because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are the children of God…” (vs 1-2).

I want to explain something very important here to combat the ‘adoption doctrine’ of the Protestants. A begotten and born child is called a ‘teknos’ or ‘tekna’ if it’s a girl. That means that it is the real thing. The Greek word ‘huios’—translated son—can be applied to both men and women. But ‘huios’ is not as strong as ‘tekna.’ When it is ‘tekna’—that we are the children of God—that means that we are His children by begettal of His Spirit to be after the God-kind, not an adoption because we’re orphans. Isn’t that something? Think on that! You think on that and pray on that, that’ll blow your mind. God expects it. Let Him fill it with the Truth and love.

“…and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be; but we know that when He is manifested, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him exactly as He is” (v 2). Isn’t that something? What is in a seed? Let’s see what Jesus says.

Here’s what it’s going to lead to, Matthew 13:37: “And He answered and said to them, ‘The One Who sows the good seed is the Son of man.’” That’s how you understand the Word of God.

Isn’t it amazing what God has done with the Word of God, that we could have it today. That’s something! I don’t think that those early saints would have a clue of the abundance that has been given to us with the Word of God that we have today. The abundance of all the physical things that we have to get these things produced and out there. God has caused it to be and we need to work and develop everything that we can.

Verse 38: “And the field is the world; and the good seed, these are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one. Now the enemy who sowed them is the devil; and the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels” (vs 38-39).

That’s because we stand around and fellowship too much and they got to take us up there because there’s a lot of important business we need to learn on the Sea of Glass. There you are, resurrected out of the ground, you’re standing around, and you say, ‘Oh, look at that, and you, too? Really?’ Just be like trying to get you back here after we take a break. So, the angels say, ‘Come on, let’s go.’

Verse 40: “Therefore, as the tares are gathered and consumed in the fire, so shall it be in the end of this age. The Son of man shall send forth His angels, and they shall gather out of His kingdom all the offenders…” (vs 40-41)—all the GMO wrong seeds, all the false prophets, all of the false politicians.

Everything that is wrong in this world is going to be straightened out by us under Christ’s direction. We’re going to gather out all the offenders.

“…and those who are practicing lawlessness; and they shall cast them into the furnace of fire; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then…” (vs 41-43) This is what is in the seed from the begettal of God the Father!

Just like a baby is in the womb living in the water, the amniotic fluid, then all of a sudden, BOOM! It’s thrust out, full term, and now it’s got to live in a world where there’s no water. Now it’s got to breath. When that first breath is taken, the heart changes the way that it pumps the blood. It no longer goes back through the umbilical cord back to the placenta, but goes into the lungs so that the lungs can now oxygenate the blood of the baby.

That’s why babies cry. They cry to fill out their lungs. They cry after that to let mothers know different things. I imagine after awhile mothers know if the diaper number one or number two? Or are they hunger or are they tired? That’s a great blessing God has given to women. Men couldn’t understand that. About the only thing they would do is, ‘Shut up, I can’t take anymore crying.’ That’s why women are wonderful.

He says, v 43: “Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. The one who has ears to hear, let him hear.”

What is in a seed?

  • eternal life
  • the mind of Christ
  • the character of God
  • eternal glory

That’s what’s in the seed of God!
