Greetings, everyone! This is Lyall Johnston, welcome to Church at Home! Church at Home is sponsored by the Christian Biblical Church of God, and we are dedicated to restoring original Christianity for today.

Are the writings of the Prophets of old relevant to the British people today? Here we're referring to the people of the British Isles and to those who immigrated to other countries around the world, once known as the British Empire.

Do the writings of the Prophets, and here we're talking about the Prophets of God, not just anyone who stands up and claims to be a prophet and writes as a prophet, but to those Prophets of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Today the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the 12 tribes of ancient Israel still live today.

Many will not believe this; many will not accept it, because religion—even Christianity—has become very unpopular in the British Isles.

Reading from our booklet, which you can obtain online (cbcg.org): Why "Christianity" Has Failed in America by Philip Neal also makes reference to the failure of 'religion' in the United Kingdom.

from: Why "Christianity" Has Failed in America by Philip Neal—appendix: Has Christianity's Decline Spawned "Atheist Churches"?

Isn't that a conundrum? "Atheist Churches"? What can be meant by that?

Well, it just simply means churches that are worshiping idols, worshiping men who have placed themselves in high positions, men who claim the authority to make pronouncements that God has to listen to, because they apparently, as they believe, have the ability to tell God what to do and set doctrines that are contrary to the very Word of God.

What hypocrisy when these people, these men, call themselves 'Christian'; that is followers of Christ! When, in fact, what they're doing is telling Christ what to do, and what He should be teaching.

With the fall of communism, coerced atheism has fallen rapidly. But voluntary atheism and other forms of voluntary non-belief…

That is, of course, non-belief in the fact that He is a God that has created all things

…are clearly on the rise—particularly in America and the UK. According to Gallup, more than 9 in 10 Americans still answer "yes" when asked the basic question, "Do you believe in God?"—a statistic virtually unchanged from the 1940s. But when asked about the absolute certainty of their belief, the number drops to the 70-80 percent range. A 2008 Gallup poll showed that about 6 percent of the U.S. population believes definitively that no God exists…

So, in America today, according to Gallop, there are 6% who do not believe emphatically that God exists. Now, listen to this next statistic:

…(39 percent for the UK, where humanist organizations have flourished for decades).

Definitively believer that there is no God!

God looks down upon us, and He laughs! Not only that, we are the descendants—the British peoples—of the man that God called and says that He's going to 'make of him many nations, as the sand of the sea and of the stars of the heavens.' And that he was eventually going to be the 'father of all nations.'

That God Who called Abraham, 39% of us who are British, and particularly it's taking here of the British Isles and most of those who are descendants of the British Isles are catching up very quickly, very rapidly.

We will worship anything but the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, Who is none other than God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ! We have rejected and turned our backs on Them.

When we understand who we are and where we have descended from, then the prophecies of the Bible, the writings of God's Prophets, become very relevant to us. We are identified in the pages of the Bible, specifically in the writings of the Prophets.

Many will say—our great theologians, and many in the clergy will stand up in the pulpits and they will deny that the prophecies of the Prophets are relevant to us today.

  • How wrong can we be?
  • When we have even refused to acknowledge the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob?
  • The God that we turn to in times of trouble, and He delivered us out of them?
  • Notably the two world wars?

But times are changing! Because we have rejected God, He is in the process of rejecting us. We want to look at that, because there is something that you are able to do. There is something that you can accomplish. First, that means we must come to understand:

  • What does God say about us as a people today?
  • What does He say about our spiritual condition?
  • What does He have to say about what He is going to do?

because of the fact that we have turned, and are continuing to turn, our back on Him! We won't accept anything! We're actually think we're putting the people, we believe, who are entertaining us, we would even call the 'idols.' We will worship them. We will sit and stand before them and we will praise them to the highest heavens. But will we praise, honor and give thanks to the God Who provides us with our daily food? with roofs over our heads? with the breath of life? NO! There's too much else going on in this world:

  • we have our cinemas
  • we have our stages of entertainment
  • we have our computers
  • we have our mobile or cell phones

We're in touch with the rest of the world and all those things that are taking place in the world.

But will we turn and read the words of God, which have an effect on our life whether we know it or not? God is giving us a message! God is speaking today to the people of the British Isles and those who have immigrated from the British Isles. He is speaking to us today, but:

  • Will we listen?
  • Will we go back and read the writings of the Prophets?
  • Will we identify what it is that we are doing wrong?

God gives us a choice. He says, 'IF you will obey Me and keep My commandments, I will bless you like no other nation on the face of the earth.'

  • Why would God do that for us?
  • Why would God make the British people a special people?
  • It's not because of what we have done!
  • It's not because of any great accomplishments or achievements!

It is all because of the blessing—the birthright blessing—that God gave to Abraham, which was passed on to his son Isaac, which in turn was passed on to his son Jacob; upon whom Jacob passed on to the two sons, in particular, of Joseph, who was only second to Pharaoh in Egypt.

Jacob took the two sons of Joseph[transcriber's correction] and he blessed them with the physical blessings. He put his name, which God had changed from Jacob to Israel, He said, 'Let my name Israel be named on you.' So, Ephraim and Manasseh today… If we can identify of those two boys, those young lads, then we will find out who we are today, and from whom we have descended.

Ephraim and Manasseh! We go into that in great detail in the publication that we have, which talks directly about the two greatest nations in the world: the British peoples and the American peoples today. This book—Two Nations that Changed the WorldAmerica and Britain—Their Biblical Origin and Prophetic Destiny by Philip Neal—goes into great detail about the peoples of ancient Israel and specifically the two sons of Joseph, who have today been the two greatest and mightiest powers on the face of the earth. There has never been an empire as great as the British Empire. The British Empire that ruled the waves because God blessed that nation and made it great.

Our problem is—as the Prophets will tell us—that we are now claiming the fact that we have made ourselves great. Here is God the Father and Jesus Christ in the highest heavens above listening to us boasting, listening to our vanity and our pride. They're in the process of calling us as individuals and calling us as nations, as a people—individually and nationally—to repentance!

God is very patient, and yet, the more the wicked and evil of our ways rise before God's throne, the more He will become determined that we must be punished like children that will not obey their parents. The reason God is going to correct us, as He tells us through His prophets, because remember what the Word of God says, 'God declares the end from the beginning.' God has already told us from the beginning what He will do for us as a nation:

  • IF we will follow His ways
  • IF we will obey Him

He has also told us what He will do:

  • IF we refuse to obey Him
  • IF we become arrogant
  • IF we come proud
  • IF we vaunt ourselves up and puff ourselves up

until we just cannot see that there is 'anyone greater than us.' That we have accomplished our greatness 'by our own power.'

How wrong that is! If God had not been involved, the British Empire would never have come to its greatness and its power that it did. It was a blessing because of Abraham's obedience!

There was a time when, at least, recognize God, when we did worship God to the very best of our ability. But that time is gone! That time is past! The churches are emptying at a very rapid rate. The more distractions we have, the further and further away we go. The percentage of those who just come to the place that they cannot even believe that there is a God is increasing. I wonder what the statistic is today, because in 2008… Look at everything that has happened since 2008 in the world to take our attention:

We've had so many conflicts around the world. Perhaps one of the big ones, one of the greatest, was '9/11' with the attack on America by terrorists. That was only the 'tip of the iceberg' of what is about to take place, and what is about to happen both to the British Isles and her descendants and to the United States of America. We're standing on the edge of a cliff and we're about to lose our balance, and we're about to crash to the bottom!

God's Prophets have told us all that thousands of years ago. Will we believe Him? or Will we just read it and say that that only applied to the people of ancient Israel? Of course, many of them say 'that only applies to the Jews.'

Well, God has a contention against the whole house of Israel, all 12 tribes, including the Jews. It's interesting that today we can read about peoples and nations in the Bible. We can read about Egypt. We know that Iran is the place of the old Persian Empire, and Iraq. We can read of Syria, Lebanon, and Assyria. But also, isn't it interesting today, of the whole house of Israel, of all 12 tribes, the one tribe that has the prominence today, we know who they are and where they are, and that's the Jews.

If we know that one-twelfth of 12 sons, or the descendants of the 12 sons of Jacob, exists today, and in the Scriptures we know that the Jews also are made up of two of the other tribes: Benjamin, the youngest son and full brother to Joseph, and the Levites, who when the kingdom was divided after the death of King Solomon, came to the south to Judah, because pagan idols and gods were being setup by the ten northern tribes.

That is why they went into Assyrian captivity! That is why today that modern-day Israel, and particularly we're addressing here the people of the British Isles and their descendants living still in the Commonwealth of Nations are also going into captivity.

The Bible is quite clear about that. In fact, not only does it say it once, it continuously repeats it. God says that if you will not repent and you will not turn from your idols, then you are going to go into captivity God's anger is being raised against us to the point where He says that we are going to be 'killed by the sword,' which means by invading armies.

Often times what happened in ancient Israel was that the problems began within the nation. God even goes as far to say—and this sounds horrible to our ears—that our pregnant women are going to be ripped up and our children are going to be dashed to the ground.

  • Are there people on the face of the earth today that can do these things?
  • Are there religions where there are extreme factors, where violence is second nature to them?
  • Where someone who is a Brit, even serving in the military forces, can be walking down a street and attacked and slain openly in the street by a radical terrorist?

It's interesting that I was reading this comment posted on the Internet. This is not an endorsement of the war that has been taking place in recent times in the Middle East. But here is an article entitled:

The Summary of Muslims Killed in the Middle East Since 1948

This is a report that is substantiated and all the details are given of how many deaths and when they occurred:

Over 90% of the 11-million Muslims killed in Middle East have been killed by Muslims.

Only 3% have been killed by Israel in the 66-year conflict!

That, of course, is since 1948 when the state of Israel was setup.

YET, ISRAEL IS ACCUSED OF BEING THE ROOT OF THE MIDDLE EAST'S PROBLEMS!!

We're not getting involved in an argument there, but that's an interesting article. What we're finding today, of course, is that terrorism is becoming more and more a threat.

Let's ask some questions, with the knowledge that terrorism is on the rise, and only a blind and deaf person is unaware today of where the center of that terrorism is and what is causing it.

In segment #1 we were reading from Matt. 24, which is called The Olivet Prophecy. We talked about those things that are going to happen:

  • wars
  • earthquakes
  • famine
  • pestilence
  • disease
  • false prophets

All on the rise, as Jesus predicted.

  • Are we living in days such as Jesus described and spoke of?
  • Can we close our eyes in ignorance to what is taking place around us?
  • What is taking place in the Middle East?

Of course we have seen—on the news—the decapitation of two captured reporters, a third waiting. Who will, it appears, undoubtedly lose his head, as well. And the threat that is behind that act! Here is an English journalist being slaughtered by one of his own countrymen. They so boldly and openly decry the descendants of Abraham—meaning Britain and America—and they're threatening to carry their terrorism right to the very heart of the British Isles, to London itself and other cities; also to the United States.

  • Are these and other prophecies of Jesus and the Prophets of the Old Testament in any way related to the British people today?
  • Are we witnessing these events, and the sorrows that Jesus spoke of, today?
  • Even as we speak?

Even if these events do not take place in your lifetime—and that is particularly relevant to those who are advancing in age—

  • What are you and I expected to do?
  • How are you expected to respond to these warnings?

We are seeing the warning!

In the days of the Prophet Daniel there was a king who took all the honor and glory to himself. He even brought the utensils that were in the temple of God, and had been taken the Babylonian king, and brought them out and exhibited them to all his friends at a banquet. As he was enjoying himself, a finger was seen to write on the wall.

You can read of this in the book of Daniel. The words that were written there were "MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN." By that the meaning is given by Daniel where he told the king that 'you have been weighed in the balance, you have been found wanting and the end is there for you.' That very night that king was slain.

Is the writing on the wall for the British Isles and her peoples? And also, let's add in Manasseh who is America today. Are these things going to happen?

Some of us, because of our age, may not live to see or witness these events, but we are going to continue witnessing an increase in terrorism. Right now, in the British Isles, the Prime Minister has made the statement; and right now as we speak the level of terrorist threats has been raised to the second highest level.

The Scriptures also tell us that part of our problem is going to be the 'strangers in our midst are going rise up against us.' Isn't that happening both in the descendants of Ephraim and Manasseh, as well as the other tribes of Northwestern Europe, the 'strangers are rising up in our midst.' They will not become a part of our nations, but they will maintain their own 'religions,' their own customs, and they refuse to follow the basic laws where we have cities. Even the police will not go into those areas where many of these people live.

These people are increasing at a far greater rate than our own peoples are. The population and dynamics are changing. The culture is being brought into our countries, and many of these are seeking and gaining political office.

  • How long is it going to be before you will be subjected to Sharia Law?
  • You know the reason why that will happen?
  • Why we may become subjected to Sharia Law?
  • Because we have refused the Law of God!
  • Don't blame God for the evils in our midst!
  • Don't blame God for our problems and our troubles!

We have to blame ourselves, because we have rejected our God!

When do the ministers of our nation—our 'religious' ministers—stand up and tell the political leaders, the kings and leaders and those who have great offices who hold the political power. When will we tell them that as a nation and as individuals we turn back to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob? That we must repent of our sins?

As God told one of His Prophets to say, 'Cry aloud! Spare not! Tell My people their sins!' Where do you hear that happening today?

The clergy are not standing up and not addressing these issues, and all the other evils in our society—but going along with all these evils—because they don't want to become unpopular!

Not so with the Prophets of God! The Prophets of God stood up and stated the Word of God as He gave it to them. What happened to those Prophets? They took them and they murdered them!

That's how much the peoples of ancient Israel thought about God and about His servants. They would have much rather listen to their own mediums and their own pastors, clergy and ministers who will preach soft things and will not address any of the evils of our society, such as:

  • same-sex marriage
  • homosexuality
  • abortion of unwanted children

And on and on and on it goes!

Can we begin to see what a stench this is in the nostrils of the Most High God Who sends His only Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins? We would much rather tell ourselves that He does not exist!

On the other side of the coin, on the other side of the issue, there is a future. God is in the process of bringing His punishment and correction on us individually and nationally because of our sins. But you see, the purpose of that correction is to bring us back to Him. Your decision today is:

  • Are you going to being to cry out to the Lord your God and turn back to Him?
  • obey His voice?
  • listen to Him?
  • and receive the benefits of that?

OR

  • Are you going to follow the crowd like a whole crowd of lemmings willingly going and jumping over the edge of the cliff to their death?
  • The decision is ours!
  • The decision is yours!
  • No one else can make that decision for us!

On the one hand we have these terrible things that will happen to us because we disobey our God. But on the other hand IF we are prepared to listen to His voice, then we can change that for ourselves personally, individually, and even can change us and our future nationally. IF we are prepared to listen to God!

Here is God speaking to us today as a people, the British peoples; Hosea 14:1: "O Israel… [you British peoples, descendants of Ephraim] …return to the LORD your God, for you have fallen because of your iniquity. Take with you words, and return to the LORD. Say to Him, 'Take away all our iniquity… [repent of our sins and stop doing those things] …and receive us graciously, that we may repay with the sacrifices of our lips'" (vs 1-2).

Here's a message from the very mouth of God through His Prophet Hosea to all those living in the British Isles and those who have descended from Ephraim and the British people:

Verse 8: "'Ephraim shall say, "What have I to do any more with idols?"…. [this time is coming; this is the purpose of the correction and is meant to do and will do] …I have heard him and watched him; I am like a leafy cypress tree. Your fruit is found from Me.' Who is wise?…. [Are you wise? If you are read on]: …He shall understand these things. Who has understanding? He shall know them, for the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them; but transgressors shall fall in them" (vs 8-9).

Once again, thank you for inviting me into your home. Until next time, this is Lyle Johnston saying so long everyone!
