Christian Biblical Church of GodPost Office Box 1442Hollister, California 95024-1442(831)-637-1875Fred R. Coulter Minister Feast of Tabernacles and Last Great Day 2009October 3 — October 10Dear Brethren, God’s Feast of Tabernacles 2009 will be here before you know it! This year we will feature 14 major sites in addition to the many smaller sites scattered across the country. Because of the need for additional Feast sites, we have added Sequim (Port Townsend), Washington; Navarre, Florida; Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin; and Wells Beach, Maine. However, we are no longer utilizing Coeur de Alene, Idaho, and Cartersville, Georgia. Below is the festival information covering each of our major sites. Please follow instructions carefully. For sites in Canada, please contact the CBCG’s Canadian office at 613-348-1118. Also, please be sure to return the Feast Information Sheet as soon as possible. Each person is responsible for making his or her own reservations. In all locations, please mention that you are with the Christian Biblical Church of God, because in most cases we have been given special rates. Remember that the Feasts of God are as important as the weekly Sabbath. Moreover, through keeping them year by year, we are able to learn and understand more about God’s plan as revealed in the Bible. We pray that this year’s Feast will be the best ever for you and your family! General Feast Information: We need your help. Over the years it has been our policy to let people attend the festival site of their choice—and to change their plans as often as necessary. Some, however, have tended to wait, making housing arrangements only a few days before opening night. This makes it quite difficult for us to plan ahead and fulfill our contractual obligations of guaranteed minimum occupancies (which, in turn, adversely impacts rates for everyone). Please let us know where you will attend as soon as possible. Wells, Maine Village by the Sea 1373 Post Road, P.O. Hollister, CaliforniaThis is the fourth year that we will have the Feast in Hollister, California, which is located 35 miles inland from the Central California Coast. Hollister is about 55 miles from the San Jose Airport, 48 miles from Monterey and Santa Cruz, and about 135 miles from San Simeon, the location of the Hearst Castle. There are many attractions for children as well as adults within the areas mentioned. For those who enjoy history, San Juan Bautista is just 10 miles away. It is the location of the Old Mission San Juan Bautista built in 1797. Monterey City and Monterey County have the Monterey Bay Aquarium, a number of nature walks, scuba diving, wine tasting, museums, missions, and facilities featuring Steinbeck. Twenty miles away, Gilroy has Bonfante Gardens Family Theme Park. Approximately 55 miles away is the Roaring Camp & Big Trees Railroad. A narrow gage railroad runs through the redwoods. It is suggested that you check the Internet for a complete list of attractions and sites within easy driving distance of Hollister. Unfortunately, this year we were not able to secure a block of rooms at Ridgemark Golf and Country Club. The location is 3800 Airline Highway, Hollister, CA 95023. However, you may be able to get a room on an individual basis. The rooms have one king bed, a microwave, and a small refrigerator. Additional lodging is available at the Posada de San Juan. It is located at 310 Forth Street, San Juan Bautista—about 11 miles from the Feast site. Most of the rooms have fireplaces, and an oversized spa tub with a choice of one or two beds. We will be meeting in the fellowship hall (w/kitchen and no crosses) of the Trinity Lutheran Church at 2300 Airline Highway, just north of Ridgemark Country Club. The first Holy Day service will be at 10:30 a.m. The times for the subsequent days will be announced on the first Holy Day. I will be in Hollister on days 5, 6, 7 and 8. Other Hotel/Motels available with special pricing: Hilton Garden Inn Gilroy 6070 Monterey St. • Gilroy, CA 95020 The Hilton Garden Inn is located only 12 miles from Hollister, which is a pleasant drive through farming and grazing land. Port Townsend, WashingtonThe Northwest Festival Site will be located at: The Harborside Inn 330 Benedict Street • Port Townsend, Washington 98368 360-385-7909 • 800-942-5960 Port Townsend is a popular tourist destination located on a small peninsula jutting into Puget sound and the Strait of Juan de Fuca on Washington’s northwest peninsula. It is noted for its Victorian mansions, Fort Worden State Park, a large marina and its quiet separation from urban areas. Nearby are the towns of Sequim and Port Angeles and the Olympic National Park. It can be reached by ferry from Whidby Island as well as by highway. Another ferry connects from Port Angeles to Victoria, British Columbia, making it a short and easy route for our brethren on Vancouver Island. The town boasts all the amenities one may find needful or desirable. We have a block of rooms reserved on the second floor of the Inn (there is an elevator) where the conference room is also located. All rooms face the Sound overlooking the marina for a spectacular water view. All rooms are priced at $95.50 per night unless you opt for a third floor room at a higher price. The cost of the rooms reflects the inclusion of the conference room which will be complementary if we fill a minimum number of room nights. When making reservations, please identify yourself as members of the Christian Biblical Church of God. Rooms are standard motel rooms with the usual amenities. Port Townsend has much to offer as a festival site—historic charm, nearby attractions, etc. But more to be desired is its relative isolation from the noise, clamor and stress of modern living. Hopefully, a number of the brethren will choose to keep the festival with us in this peaceful setting. The festival host is Jerry Grosskrueger; if you have any questions, please contact him by e-mail at glkrueger@comcast.net. As we have continued to grow in recent years, we have increased the number of festival sites. Moreover, each year we try to plan our sites closer and closer to where the brethren live. This way it is more convenient as you travel to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. May God bless you in every way, so this Feast will the best ever! With love in Christ Jesus, Fred R.
